There is always the danger of people not understanding the difference between the right app and the harmful app. So IT tries to stay conservative. If a policy is introduced where an employee can submit a software to the dept showing productivity benefits, and the dept has to come up with a solid denial reason within a specified period of time, then this might work in corporate enviroment. policy policy policy. Do you guys adhere to security policies like SAS70 etc?
