Webcast - SharePoint SharePoint Disaster Recovery Essential Guidelines11/18/2009 SharePoint Disaster Recovery Essential Guidelines A look at the options available for preserving your SharePoint environment and why disaster recovery (DR) is so much more than using a tool or running regular backups. John L. Ferringer and Sean P. McDonough, co-authors of the "SharePoint 2007 Disaster Recovery Guide," will be discussing the benefits, limitations, and potential scenarios for the many tools Microsoft makes available to backup and restore SharePoint, with a focus on finding the right fit for a variety of situations and environments. They will also cover disaster recovery concepts and strategies, explaining terms such as recovery time objectives and recovery point objects and why DR needs to go well beyond the act of just backing up your SharePoint sites. Presented by: John Ferringer & Sean McDonough

There's a lot to like about this winery. Their port is outstanding, and their syrah is just as good. I highly recommend stopping by their tasting room, its a great building in a beautiful location.

Slides and Code Samples from my Enterprise Search Talks at SharePoint Saturday Ozarks - Corey Roth - DotNetMafia.com - Tip of the Day - http://www.dotnetmafia.com/blogs...
Need to check these out when I get a chance. I wish I could have caught Corey's talks, but there was too much good content going on at the same time at SharePoint Saturday Ozarks!

I'm planning on doing a similar post; interestingly Robin was someone who helped me over Twitter tackle an issue I was having in SharePoint.

Brian Farnhill just uploaded a new release for the NoSPD project, its an HTTP Handler to deny access to SharePoint sites via SharePoint Designer. Check it out! :)

Great info on MSO, especially the headaches with trying to get consumable URLs for SharePoint Online. MS's perspective is that it doesn't matter what the URL is, b/c they're providing friendly ways to connect to it, but ultimately that's short-sided and creates a poor user experience.

Will be nice when they actually have something that you can test with...they have been talking about this since June 2008...still waiting for some beta or something to come out

Good tips. AC's WCM book is good, I also recommend the Real World SharePoint 2007 MVP book as well. Firebug and Fiddler are irreplaceable, you just can't do MOSS branding w/o them (its too bad Firebug isn't available for IE).

Umm, yeah...great, except that comments are disabled on that blog. Not to mention that the FAQ is in a PDF document, so there's no way to track it updates as they are made to the document. Very disappointing...

I don't know what's better, the commentary on how the first content a user sees needs to timely, relevant, and fresh, or the headline he got on the front page of ESPN's NCAA cover in '97... ;)
