Helen Sventitsky was an aspiring singer performing a small show when electrical feedback from a nearby amplifier burned her badly and nearly killed her. Strangely enough, on her arrival to the local hospital, her wounds were miraculously healed. In addition to her increased health and vitality, her singing range had increased to ranges that she had previously been unable to reach. Taking her newfound abilities in stride, she returned to her singing career, enjoying great success. One day, after performing before a large audience, an unknown number of assailants attempted to kill her backstage. To her amazement, Helen not only thwarted their attempts, but did so using her previously unknown ability to transmute sound into hard light objects. Upon further inspection, she discovered that a strange being made of pure sound was hiding inside her body. Helen vowed to protect the being from its would-be assassins, who have sworn to destroy all manifestations of music in our world, and in return, the being protected Helen from harm, amplified her voice and gave her strange new powers of sound and light. - Steven Perez
