I guess our most active users, most active rooms and most discussed entries algorithms are pretty good! What do you think?

i'm not sure - on the 'active rooms' - the 3rd most active room is called "Science21" - yet the last bit of activity in there was on Monday! What's going on there FFholic? :) - Zee.

Zee, looks like it's probably because there are some conversations on there with over 100 comments each. The algorithm blends number of users, and numbers of likes and comments as well as recency (that's not a word is it?) of posts. - Laura Norvig

Actually, maybe they don't even take into account how recent the posts are. Hard to tell. - Laura Norvig

I'd like to know what goes into determining the Most Discussed post. - DO ANYBODY NO MONIQUE

Actually we look at the character count total of each post and find posts with more wordly comments. Only comments sent by someone other than the original poster are taken into account. - Baris Seker

Why are rooms missing from the most active room list? US Politics comes up as #6 in a search, but doesn't appear in the main list. - Steve Isaacs

You're probably looking at the English rooms list. That room doesn't have a language assigned to it yet and that's why it is only in the All languages room list http://www.ffholic.com/Rooms... and not in English rooms. I admit that it is an issue though and we will get on that. - Baris Seker
