Terry Malloy “coulda” been a contender. He “coulda” been somebody. Luke Jackson lived according to his own code, never making plans and never looking back. Only trouble: for both men, neither was enough. Together, they took on insurmountable odds, each claiming victory in their own ways. In this week’s Reel Rumbles, only one walks away victorious as On the Waterfront and Cool Hand Luke go head-to-head in a battle of two modern heroes bucking against their oppressive worlds.

I can't even express how excited I am that Burton is working on this. I remember seeing quotes from Depp (years ago) that he'd like to play Barnabas Collins, so I am hoping, hoping, hoping that is still the case.

A Burton/Depp view of Collinswood would be quite a treat indeed!

"I must say, Fahrenheit 451 was such a fabulous experience, probably the best read of the year so far for me, that the other scripts didn't quite measure up."

NEW YORK -- Veteran scribe Dan Gordon has been anointed to pen "The King of Sting." The writer behind "The Hurricane" and "Wyatt Earp" has signed to write the screenplay for the drama about the life of con man Craig Glazer. Based on Glazer's eponymous book, the project tells of the author's 20-year exploits canvassing the country posing as an undercover narcotics agent and pocketing money from stings. Glazer and a partner were so adept at conning victims that the Kansas City Police Department hired them to conduct real stings. Eric Eisner is producing the project via his L+E Prods. banner. In addition to his screenwriting credits, Gordon penned the current Broadway hit "Irena's Vow," the Tovah Feldshuh starrer about a Polish Catholic nurse who hid Jews during World War II. He also has written drafts of the upcoming Universal mobster tale "Mafia Cop" and MGM hit man remake "The Mechanic."
