I have to say, Syd's "fixed" version IS much more accurate. If you consider miscellaneous Microsoft efforts to be things Microsoft wants to "spam you" with, IE8 install is one huge spamfest. It reminds me of the "free IQ test!!!" which had pages and pages of offers (and one tiny no thanks hidden somewhere if you're lucky)... finally, after saying "no" "hell no" and then "WTF" to the...
