My sister has challenged me to give up my sugar habit until Thanksgiving. No cookies, cake, muffins, chocolate, quick breads, candy, etc. I think it may be harder than quitting smoking, but I'm gonna try. :-)
I wish someone would give me that challenge. Good luck! - Jess
We're both doing it, so at least I'll have moral support. I swear sugar is like a drug to me. Being 6 months pregnant with insane cravings does not help. - Jenny R.
I couldn't do that. Good luck. - John (a.k.a. dendroica)
I've done it before. And cut starches out at the same time. It's easier to go cold turkey than to be gradual about it because any cheating fuels a blood sugar peak-crash loop. Good luck! - Spidra Webster
Oh no! But I thought the best part of being pregnant was being able to indulge!! - Jess
LOL To a point. I think I've gone above and beyond that several times over. ;-) - Jenny R.
Well, I am super nervous about it because I crave sugary stuff all the time, but I think cold turkey is definitely the way to go. Unfortunately, this means I have to give up two things I love: chocolate and baking. :-( - Jenny R.
a supplement called 5-HTP can help reduce the cravings, you can get it at any health food store - William Harryman
William, thanks for the tip! - Jenny R.
