@mckeay: I just realized I don't sound like Cpt. Privacy on the podcast any more. Even I've come to accept that our concept of 'privacy' has died http://twitter.com/mckeay...

"Unfortunately that's not about "industry best practice" - in most countries of the world, this is a punishable offense and violation of data privacy law. I know this needs to be kept in perspective, but address book data _at the very least_ contains personal data (by default) which is subject of law, most of the time it may contain even more sensitive information in extra fields. I know people that keep bank account data here... OTOH, we need to pull Apple into this discussion. Other than Android, iOS allows access to address book data without previous user consent or even as much as a notification. There needs to be an official API that supports privacy compliant transfer, i.e. email hashes, plus a way to deny that kind of access."

"Da würde ich eine der neuen Olympus MFT Kameras (E-PM1 oder so) nehmen, falls das von der Größe her OK ist. Oder die neue Canon G1X wenn Sie denn mal raus ist..."

"How about "Stupid ideas in cryptography" - inventing your own protocols - using encryption certificates for signing or vice versa - Is it truly random? - How to use salts/seeds"
