- Andrea (Notorious)
Notorius, se il tuo framework di test non permette di usare qualsiasi selettore, beh, cambia framework :) Con Zend Framework + phpUnit posso scrivere: $this->assertQueryContentContains('p.hint', 'Invalid credentials provided');
- Claudio Cicali ♋
- Andrea (Notorious)
e allora blame the framework, not the designer.

If Apple does release a tablet and that tablet is a glorified iPod Touch, I'll never buy one. It had better run a version of Snow Leopard and I had better not be required to go to some specific App Store to get programs for it. OR ELSE. [clenches fists]
- Akiva Moskovitz
I'll buy it pretty much regardless. :D
- Tad
from fftogo
If they go with multiple sizes for a tablet, I think the smaller ones will be glorified iPhones, and the biggers ones would have snow leopard on them. The bigger the screen, the more users are going to want to multitask.
- Joshua Schnell
I see 3 possibilities. 1) a tablet that uses an app store and basically is a large iPod Touch. 2) A tablet that is a Mac with a keyboard interface and modified UI to accommodate using a finger as a pointer. 3) A table that is a Mac but has a iPod Touch emulator to allow people to use the touch-based apps from the app store.
- Paul Franz
Joshua, I hope they don't do that. That would be HORRIBLY confusing to consumers. Unless maybe they're completely differently marketed. The "little ones" are just big iPods and the "big" ones are a new MacBook line...
- Tad
from fftogo
Tad, that's kind of how i'm leaning right now. Touches are getting bigger and more tablet like, and then a full tablet release.
- Joshua Schnell
No, they won't do that. Thats imbicillic. They'll have one (possibly two, since both Kindle's are selling so well). I can't see iPhone/iTouch Apps running - it'll screw up the graphics and Jobs will never allow that.
- Roberto Bonini
Differentiating product lines is imbecilic? Touch gets a little make over, and having a full fledge tablet released isn't really a huge change up.
- Joshua Schnell
actually I see the point Roberto's making here. iPhone doesn't come in multiple screen sizes 'cause then the UI for all the apps is screwed up. Making the iPhone OS run on a 10 incher will mean the devs will have to recreate the whole UI for the 10 inch screens. Not very likely that Apple will be taking that route.
- vijay
Vijay, that's a good point, but it wouldn't be the first time Apple's screwed over devs. lol
- Joshua Schnell
So this is a screenshot of FreeBSD/MacOS X Snow Leopard version ?
- Thierry Lhôte
iPhone/iPod apps will run as windows in Snow Leopard on the new tablet. And it will have A/V out so will replace the AppleTV. I just totally made all that up.
- LogEx
Hm. I'm trying to think how I'd want it to work. If anybody could, Apple could. But the idea of making a version of OS X that doesn't need a keyboard just sounds like a bad idea. That's *never* worked out as well as it sounds. Trying to force applications that are used to one size of screen work on another size screen also doesn't work out so well.
- Wirehead
I also don't think a iTablet as a separate OS is a good idea. If anything, it's probably easier to get all of the iPhone app writers to iTablet-enable their software, because all of them have been written recently. Hm. Will be interesting to watch. Next iPhone or next Newton? Only the shadow knows, and he's still trying to repress those naked Steve Jobs pictures he found.
- Wirehead
LogEx, windowed iPhone apps is a definite possibility. The ( allegedly fake ) screenshot leaks from the iTablet had shown the exact thing - standard iPhone apps running in windows.
- vijay
from iPhone
Yeah. I saw the fake screenshots. But they did have a good point and that is an Apple Tablet could easily be used to run multiple iPhone at the same time. Because could handle it. There are some things that I have problem with in that regard though. That is would a Table have the accelerator sensors like the iPod Touch/iPhone. If so, that would be very weird to try to play a game with such a big screen.
- Paul Franz
"Snow Leopard, the latest addition to the OS X family, has revamped the Services system, and made it a whole lot more useful. In short, services are contextual aware actions, and Apple has made it easy for users to create their own services with an updated Automator. I wanted to familiarize myself with how the services system works, and create something useful. I created a service that lets you upload documents (images, mp3s, text documents, …) to an Amazon S3 bucket."

Just read Micah's comment. If this is being delivered to Ted Stevens, that truck is going to have to take the highway up to Alaska through Canada. The Mounties may object.
- John E. Bredehoft
One never knows. the delivery may be the next drive-way after the stop sign made on 10 to 14 wheels instead of 18 - the rig hasn't tipped yet
- Mac Sharp
Obviously a very conservative truck driver, leaning oh so far to the right. See what fear and loathing that would bring? Must be listening to r*u*s*h (talk show dude, not band)

"Reproducing Wikipedia in a dysfunctional physical form helps to question it's use as an internet resource. Articles in the book: Wikipedia's featured articles."
- Cee Bee
from Bookmarklet
It's only the feature articles - the ones that have been properly vetted, redacted, agreed on and quality controlled (no half finished sentences and "more details needed" stuff) - from the source: "At present, there are 2,529 featured articles, of a total of 2,903,080 articles on the English Wikipedia." The full wikipedia would be 1000 times this, but most of it would be 25 line standard templates with "this article is a stump"
- Joelle Nebbe (iphigenie)
Featured articles are disappointing: that there are so few of them, and that so many of them are on arcane narrow topics (one painting, one book etc.)
- Joelle Nebbe (iphigenie)
Alix- I was thinking the same thing. My childhood set of pedias in the 80s (that were from the 60s and 70s) stacked a lot higher than that. I'm more surprised that there are only 5,000 8.5 x 11 inch double sided pages of Wikipedia information. Seems low.
- Tony
Joelle- Now that seems more along the lines of what I was thinking.

disappointed to see so many incomplete articles on wiki..:-(

But you can edit featured articles. Which makes the book out-of-date already :).

@Cee Bee: Yes, but if the quoted description is part of it, I don't see how it "helps to question [Wikipedia]'s use as an internet resource."

Just after have printed this mega volume, this is already passed
- Roberto
from fftogo
wow that's huge... how outdated is it already now? hehe
- Marko Saric
Not huge at all, even if it is only featured articles. Alix noted it looks smaller than book set remembered a kid and I agree. Now, if they printed all the smaller, cross referenced articles each with a page, it would be huge.
- Michael W. May
Hypertext is vital these days to make sense of all that.

this just strikes me a a pointless exercise (at best) - and the quote seems to suggest that printing it shows how it is less than valuable as a tool. Huh?

Ha. I love that "the Scarlet Letter" is given as a helper clue. High school English is so much easier to remember than the alphabet.

I could barely solve this puzzle and I'm not blonde :P

Uh oh... does "strawberry blonde" still count as blonde?

My mom's fave blonde joke: The blonde picked out a puzzle and took it home. Five weeks later, after working on it with only the shortest of breaks for eating and drinking, she emerged from her apartment. Disheveled but triumphant, she ran to the doorman to tell about her success. "I put together the puzzle! It only took me five weeks, but the box said two to four YEARS!"

I predict that I will be unemployed by this time next year if my first month's activity on FF is any indciation of what the next year will bring. :D I joke. I think.

Oh yeah, I'm in that room. I think I've just grown tired of some of the commentary. I see the same statements over and over again. No one seems to have an original idea in the convos I read. It doesn't compel me to want to talk about it. Plus, as a Libertarian, my views aren't always widely appreciated. :)
