Smitten Kitchen never falls. I'd probably macerate the fruit in the aforementioned booze and let em good and drunk then proceed with the rest of the recipe. -

I also like this filling; easier to make than pastry cream. No cooking! Now, have I ever used mascarpone? Hrm. -
