Tuesday, June 7 is officially National Chocolate Ice Cream Day, so the KitchenDaily editors decided to put 14 different brands of chocolate ice cream to the taste test to determine who makes the best. After a round of testing among the KitchenDaily editors, we did another blind taste test with our co-workers here at AOL. More than 20 people showed up to determine which brands were the best and worst. The editors rated each brand on a scale of one to five for texture and chocolate flavor. Then we asked our coworkers to rank their favorite and least favorite brands from one to five. The top pick for each category received five points, the second four points, the third three points and so on. The highest score for each category translated to the worst and best choices. In the end, we came up with one overall winner and loser. Read more: http://www.kitchendaily.com/2011...

Their #2 is my #1. Trader Joe's ice cream is basically relabeled Double Rainbow.

I'm partial to Turkey Hill, but I like Friendly's too. Ben & Jerry's is better than either, but I have the other two more often.

Man, Friendly's?! I haven't heard of them since I used to go to their restaurant in Fredericksburg. I think we should all do a virtual taste test of all 14 brands and see if it's true. ;)

I'm a fan of Turkey Hill as well, John. Never tried the Friendly's brand (and I haven't seen it at major supermarkets, at least on the east coast)...
