noticed this a.m. that the school bus stop signs extended when loading are pretty much universally ignored

back in a coffee shop - returning to dubai tonight (arriving at about 4a)
at the create lists/statistics workstop at MENA IUG in Cairo
had kushari at a small restaurant near the hotel (downtown) - about 4 tables, menu in arabic only
wondering if Zabeel park has a jogging/walking path around it similar to the one at Safa
judging by traffic, people that ride #dubaimetro get off the metro & into their cars when they need to go somewhere real

configuring mod_security; waiting for IT to get some dns entries right for another project; using yum to do some updates
After working with Gentoo and Ubuntu, I find yum is just not yummy....

i've never really liked apt-get - just personal preference - sort of like the vi/emacs, blackboard/webct & etc. that seem to generate amazingly passionate arguments. Most of the IT depts at the schools i've been at seem to migrate to rh flavor linux, hence yum which, at least, improves on rpm
