I've said it before, but the "[x] is / will kill [y]" is annoying, lazy, immature journalism. Everyone using this as a crutch should be flogged with a wet e-noodle. Repeatedly.

The more that I think about it, is this really a zero sum game? I mean, I think that already a bunch of us are using both, and I think that might be sustainable.

See, I don't think FF can displace Twitter. In moments of downtime, yes it can. But I think Twitter has a very unique niche carved out that, once it can gets the kinks worked out, will be very dominant.

I'm mostly amused by the whole 'killing' meme - but that said - I think Twitter will simply kill itself the way it is going these days and as I said in the post - it won't be replaced by a Twitter clone - but more likely by FF.
