DO ANYBODY NO if it is possible to access the complete tweet history of a user, beyond 3200 tweets?

I have volunteered for the task of archiving the complete tweet history of the top 1000 for historical preservation purposes and some twitter users have just talked way to much, and I seem to only be able to get their last 3200 tweets. Is there any way around this?

You know, some us us have been asking Microsoft for a couple of years to get on with supporting SFTP or SCP. I'm not sure why they haven't listened, yet. I guess they don't take enough hits over security concerns.

Most likely the way Google and Bing indexes and ranks your webpage is different - not sure what kind of algorithm bing uses but google uses a modified page rank algorithm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... that has been tweaked over the years

You shouldn't worry for now. This is just some preparations. If in a good 3 or 4 months your still not showing up and Bing is still growing you might want to take a look at what is wrong. Otherwise, no worries.

Also, the results in google search seem to change more rapidly now. Since I'm clueless, there's no rhyme or reason to it. About 6 months ago or more, I pretty much dominated the first couple of pages in search results. Now there's a lot more competition and I've dropped down considerably even though I'm the most active person in the business as far as using social media.

They offer I guess an online presence for businesses where a business can have a website, offer coupons and such. They have "free" account options but it doesn't seem to be really "free" if that makes sense..

I don't have much to say on this, but I think the key requirement is not your photographing skills, but more your ability to edit and present photos. These guys produce brochures and you need to be able to help them with that. If you can show this in your CV, your coverletter, or through real-life examples (e.g. study some real-estate photos, make a brochure, and send it to them), then I think your chances are good.

Kol - in the requirements, it says NOTHING about having prior experience as a photographer. So I agree with Vincent. Prove that you are right for the job by demonstrating the skills they do require in your CV and elsewhere. Do some research, find out what commercial photography is all about and go take some pictures, edit them and post them on a separate website just for sharing with the hiring manager of this position. Not sure if you got the answer you were looking for but my business partners and I at the Secret Women's Business Network ( http://www.swbnetwork.com/blog... ) use FriendFeed as a collaboration tool as we are on three different continents. We have a private room where we do our collaboration and a public one http://friendfeed.com/swbnetw... where we share bits and pieces to the world. It really is fantastic as a communication and collaboration tool.

I'm horrible with keeping track of papers, which get misplaced, etc. Preferably I'd like to scan documents directly into an online app. rather than storing them on my computer first and then uploading them, but I don't know if that's something that's even possible.

I just upgraded to premium. The cost to do so is minimal, and with the premium account, I can now import any type of file. That's big for me in business: Word, Excel & PPT files I get from colleagues can now be input and accessed through Evernote. I love it.

I love Evernote but haven't yet hit the limit on uploads (so far, I mostly use it for bookmarking online and tagging things to read or do in the future). I plan to upgrade to premium anyway just because I think it's a wonderful service and I want to support it, especially as I branch out and use more of the features.

I compared Evernote to Springpad. Springpad is pretty cool, but it's buggy and has enough complaints on their Get Satisfaction website to cause me to shove that one to the background at least for now. I discovered that I could use Evernote with Skitch to take screen shots, then organize them into Evernote. This keeps me from having to save too many .jpg files onto my laptop.

I use Evernote a lot, but the free version is enough for me for now. It's kind of a chicken-and-egg thing. I don't want to invest too much of my note-taking with them, given that they are a small company and who knows how long they'll be in business. But if most people think like me and opt for the free version, then they'll probably won't survive.

OK, I need some help. I have a podcast I produce every week through a service mypodcast.com. This service is terrible so I want to make my own "XML Source" file and continue to feed it through to Itunes. The key is itunes has already approved my show and I don't want to go through that process again. Is there a way for me to do it myself or ...

Tech people help: Need to transfer 20gig of files from a PC to a Mac. We have a Mac-formatted external HD that the PC won't read. We have a network, but the Mac will only see the other Macs on the network but not the PCs. We have to get this done by tomorrow. Any ideas?

Ya you should be able to connect to a Windows share through SMB. Or you can try installing Windows Live Sync on both machines.. Or burn DVD's.

I think Live Sync would take forever to get to the cloud and back again. A straight transfer over the network is best. DVD would be fine too if all else fails

Thanks, Eric. Maybe the file sharing settings aren't right? We'll check. And yeah, DVD / FTP is our backup, but if we can get them to see each other on the network it'd be SO much faster and easier. Boss just told us to work on it tomorrow morning, though. I'll make sure to bring up the suggestions. :) Thanks for the quick replies!

One thing that can cause many fire sharing headaches is a software firewall. Disable any firewall on the Windows PC to ensure the Mac can query for it properly.

I believe Live Sync will use the local network for transferring to each other. It uses the cloud for authentication.

Turn on file sharing on mac, then hit the option/advanced button and turn on SMB sharing. Shows up in network places

Format the external drive as a PC drive (Fat32). The Mac can read it.

on the same network, you only ever need to use file sharing. If you see the machine name of the windows PC on the mac, click on it then click on the "connect as" button in the top right. Enter the logon details you use to access your windows box and voila, access.

Yeah, we can set up an FTP server no problem. That's what we'll do if we can't get the file sharing to work tomorrow. Turns out the person who needed the Mac tomorrow now doesn't need it for at least another day, so the pressure's off a bit.

I use FTP directly between Mac and PC without a server, just the old school wsftp on the PC and the built in Mac function under file sharing. And if this is what someone has already suggested, then you all know exactly how much of a FF nOOb I am. ;-)

Use SMB. Finder - Go > Connect to server > smb://<ip of computer> Should give you access to the PCs shared folder. I always use a crossover cable I made for stuff like this. Just connect the two, set manual IPs and connect using SMB.

I had a similar problem between my vista install and my Mac. Neither would see one another. I ended up setting up the drop box on the mac and creating a network location manually on the Vista machine that pointed to it using the IP address of the Mac. They still couldnt read each other but I was able to just dump stuff on the mac. I'm sorry I wish I had better instructions but it has been so long I don't remember the fine details.

I see a lot of people have already suggested FTP. I agree that is probably the simplest solution to implement as long as the network connection between the two machines is solid. SMB file sharing would be a great deal faster. I would spend an hour trying to get SMB working. If you can't get an SMB connection setup in hour then use FTP.

Another option would be to run out and buy another 20GB+ external drive, format it FAT32, and hook it up to the Mac along with the source drive. Copy the data from the source drive to the new one, disconnect, and reconnect to the PC.

Oh, they got it moved over the next day - I told them about the file sharing thing, but I don't know if they were able to get it to work that way or had to use FTP. In any case, we had longer than we originally thought to get it done, so it worked out. Thanks everyone!

When I was programming I was rather astounded to learn that sometimes problems would solve themselves in my sleep. I would wake up in the middle of the night with "of course!" interfering with the sheep jumping over the fence, jot down notes in a pad kept on the night table then go about my peaceful slumber.

A-List blogs don't need my help, free advertising, or my link-love. It's the little guys that get less attention that need the spot in my blogroll, which is rediculously long. It's dynamic, with only the 5 most recently updated showing, and the rest is revealed by clicking a "show all" link. I have cut the list down drastically today, so the lesser known blogs get a chance to be seen in the top 5 more often. Could a few people take a look at the list and let me know if I missed any A-Listers so I can boot them off? Right sidebar, listed as "Friends and Sites I Like"

That or Pandora. You can create a channel with your favorites you listed and then it will automatically pull in other things you might be interested in.

I've stayed away from the cloud experience, because the buffering, even if its slight, can spoil the listening experience.

Aaman, you might want to check out the play list at my public radio station: they play absolutely everything http://www.wncw.org Saturdays and Sundays are bluegrass and Celtic, respectively, but they also play Grateful Dead, Frank Zappa, blues, jazz, and a lot of indie music.
