Hmmm, if we could please have email notifications on groups, I could set one up to replace my Yahoo Groups email list I admin with my old games industry chums and also optionally give us a more richer service (if they decide to visit the site).

One problem though, sometimes we attach images to replies (in FriendFeed's case 'comments'). So ideally on the email notification alone it would be nice to have any image links in the comments appear as a image in the email. ALso for it to work in Gmail at least, we would need to see the whole thread, my own comments and all. #betakoltag-sg-groups

I think my friends would stick with the email but optionally it gives us access to sharing images, etc.

that's a great idea. I would find it useful too for a group list I administer for my college.

Ah cool. It mainly benefits me as it brings yet another thing into FF but the guys *might* like it too. I'm recruiting new users everywhere I can. ;-)

Kol: You could create a new list and put all the groups there and change the settings via the "EMAIL/IM" ;)

Nicholas, yep but so would they and I'd barely get them on FF yet alone getting them setting up lists etc. ;-)

Kol: You should inform them the service is being closed (or no longer updated) on Yahoo Groups and is merging to FriendFeed where it will be updated and where "you" (aka. them) can receive a richer service by X and get them to convert over ;)

This would help with people who are used to using mailing lists, like Yahoo Groups and perhaps would give FriendFeed another target audience.
