Is FF testing the waters to start advertising in streams? This could be interesting. Not sure how I feel about this, I think it makes sense and I think....I might approve.
very smart, makes sense now why they went to real-time streams

I believe I am in favor of this as well, especially if it is going to keep the FF Gods Happy.

As long as they don't ever flood us with ads, I don't think I will mind (much). I only hope we are allowed to like and comment on them. It could be of real use to advertisers to see that kind of feedback on their ads in real-time.

And with greasemonkey, we don't have to see a single add.

I am sure sooner or later Ad Muncher will add something to their script to remove them, but if we are allowed to like & comment on ads, I might just over-ride it and put friendfeed in the exceptions list.

+1 April: I think being able to comment and like ads would be a really innovative play, and provide some serious added value to advertisers

commenting & liking on ads would be great :-) but methinks advertisers would sometimes be upset by what people say :-/

Commenting & liking ads could make them even more powerful. Imagine: an ad rolls through your stream, you glance at it and don't give it a 2nd thought...or with commenting & liking enabled: 1.) An ad rolls through your stream and a comment from someone you know & respect catches your eye. They actually use and like the product or service. You like what they have to say in the comment enough to try it, since you have more respect for the person you know than you do for a company you really don't. 2.) Negative comments start piling up, and company representatives are there to handle it in real time, resolving issues and answering questions and improving the company's image in the process (sort of like Get Satisfaction, in real-time) Besides, are we all that naive to think we haven't seen ads on here already? They just weren't fed to us officially by the service. Instead we serve ads to each other, powerful word of mouth advertising for the things we like (or hate). It's almost all ads, when you really think about it, so why should an official ad be any different and less powerful?

If I gotta look at ads, I gotta be able to comment, like and DISlike the ads. I think that like if a user gets blocked by so many people they get the boot, an ad should be able to be disliked out of the system.
