I think, for the most part, video games reached a peak in their difficulty a few years back, and have started to get a little easier again than they once were. The systems, though, (with the exception of the Wii) are getting more complex and difficult for us old fogeys to understand. - Curtiss Grymala

In my case, they were already so hard 10 years ago that I gave up playing, and stuck with Tetris and other puzzle games. Really didn't want to spend hours and hours just to reach the final screen. - Jordi Soler

Okay after thinking this over some more, I need to modify my answer. Games have become more difficult and I attribute most of this to the advances in AI. Enemies were once very predictable, but now they often do the unexpected and can even coordinate their attacks. I love this because this, because their varied responses add to the re-playability of the game. What has definitely become more difficult is not the game, but the players. Most games are played online now, and the level of competition is fierce. It seems like everyone knows how to make themselves a hard target to hit by jumping while strafing, they also know how to rocket jump, and they are all mastering the deadly head shot. This applies to everyone but me; I seem to be getting my butt kicked all the time now. It sucks! With that said, I’m going to play some Far Cry 2 now. Goodnight! - Michael Fidler
