Have we finally found the replacement to FriendFeed in Google Buzz? If yes, why? If not, why? #friendfeed #googlebuzz

Perhaps this thread might be of use again: http://ff.im/6mySB - Kol Tregaskes
No! - Kenton
What are your thoughts on Google Buzz? - Kol Tregaskes
I wish it was a standalone app and I wish I could pull in regular RSS feeds. As it is, it looks like I'd have to push everything to Reader and then Share it all from there. Unless I'm missing something. - Kenton
Note, I've not got Buzz myself yet, still waiting, zzzzz. - Kol Tregaskes
Odd Kol, because it let me follow you. Maybe I'm just following your Google profile at this point. - Kenton
It's the best of the rest so far in my opinion, based on the way I like to use FF, but nothing's come close enough to actually replace FriendFeed. My guess is that Buzz interest will fade quickly and it'll be used by a few people much like GReader is used by relatively few. - Mark H
I was gonna ask this. - LouCypher
Kenton, you can sort of import feeds. http://code.google.com/intl... - Vezquex
Kenton, really? Oh well, not sure. My Gmail is plain old Gmail atm. - Kol Tregaskes
Let you know when I get it - although I'll have to start all over again with "buzz" when it shows up. - Dan owns Comicsforge.com
Kenton, I think it lets you automatically follow everyone in your chat buddy list and email address book, like in Google Wave. - LouCypher
Bumping. - Kol Tregaskes
No, they say FF is noisy, not compared to G BUzz: a fuck'n jet engine! - The Real sofarsoShawn
No buzz yet... - Wang Yip
You can't adequately hide content, it needs filtering evene more desperately than FF - The Real sofarsoShawn
I think it COULD BE eventually, but it isn't yet. Not enough filtering control, not enough imported services, inadequate list support (contact groups appear to be used only to control privacy of stuff you post, not filter stream of what you see). But for straight up conversation, it fills the bill as well as anything else so far, and people are using it. So far. - Jandy
Yeah exactly, and your content is hard to find in Gmail, I have to keep going back to my profile, the search is awful! But it does have potential, there is quite a "Buzz" about it hahahahah, pun intended - The Real sofarsoShawn
As @Jandy and @sofarsoShawn pointed out it lacks Friendfeed's beautiful 'hide' function, it also lacks public Groups (aka Rooms), check out my post on it: http://j.mp/b4WIM4 - Mitchell McKenna
Buzz needs groups/rooms like we have in FriendFeed - it just needs to be FF doesn't really, really? :-) - Kol Tregaskes
I'm too lazy to start over. - The Real sofarsoShawn
Start over? In Buzz you mean? - Kol Tregaskes
yeah, can you do it for me Kol? I'll send a Gmail invite your way.... - The Real sofarsoShawn
Invite to what, Shawn? Buzz doesn't need an invite, everyone will everyone get access. - Kol Tregaskes
I totally don't get it. Then again, I'm the type of person who needs these things spelled out to her. It took me awhile to "get" FF and use it to my advantage. I don't like that the interface is on my email page - it makes it all too noisy. - Lis
Lis, yeah I'd like to see it as a separate entity. - Kol Tregaskes
FriendFeedForever - Steve Cleary
in time, perhaps. When the API comes out, we won't be stuck with Google's interface, which isn't exactly the best. - Vezquex
