FriendFeed APIのpaginationは、使ってみるといまいちだと思うんですが(realtime更新されるものの範囲指定の方法として)、さてじゃあどうすれば、と思うとなかなか難しそうです。よそのAPIだとどうなんですかね? - NaHi from m.ctor.org

When you post it to a group in FriendFoo, now you can cc your "My feed" as well. - YungSang from FriendFooV2

Noting that FriendFoo is getting slower and hanging on a little when you call for the Post Form. it also denies to post sometimes. IE8 handling is actually getting faster and better. Weird
I am IE8 and everything is fast and responsive. while chrome/iron gets slower. will have to check if it has changed a little in firefox 3.5..find it odd but amusing that just like with Rejawoo, FriendFoo is doing better with IE8... - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
 - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
hmm - YungSang from FriendFooV2
i am of course now in the latest stable dev Iron/Chrome 3 build - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
It may depend on a Javascript engine. And a post request still goes through my server. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
I might have to port it to GAE/Python. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
umm nope. Firefox 3.5 continues to be horrible for me. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
but IE8 is now great. no prompts, no hanging, no slowdowns - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
no prompts? - YungSang from FriendFooV2
yeah, no javascript prompts at all - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
"this script is blah blah, you want it to stop?" - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
on default setting? - YungSang from FriendFooV2
no more of those - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
That's nice. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
default setting?. the default rendering is standards mode. so yes. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
yeah, what was the bubble shortcut for v2? - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Did you set something disable? - YungSang from FriendFooV2
want to see if it works as good running from bubbles - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
>>16: Already done. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
No, not at all. but the latest updates to IE8 were recently - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
in private posts for four of us. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
yeah, what was it?. the link of bubbles?. oh ok. will look for it then - Avatar X from FriendFooV2

talked too soon. it gave me a fail when i tried to load a 100+ replies and it prompted me on 50+ replies threads. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
>>26: on Bubbles? - YungSang from FriendFooV2
so it looks like prompts are reserved for big threads.. well. still a improvement. :P - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
yeah, same good behaviour but prompts on big threads. as i said.. a good improvement all around even then - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Yes, it is. The prompt is for a heavy javascript thread. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
>>30: I see. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
but before it prompted a lot more - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
IE8 has been updated? - YungSang from FriendFooV2
security updates and comptibility list updates are every month - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Well, i wanted to share this little update.. c-y youngsang. :) - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Anyway it is too difficult to avoid the prompts at this time. Sorry. Or you can set the prompts disable. - YungSang from FriendFooV2

FriendFoo v2 gives out a 404 or a "That application sent a invalid request" message
works from me but I just sign-in (I'm on genuine Fx3.5.2 which freezes sometimes on FriendFooV2) - NaHi from FriendFooV2
firefox is a no go for friendfoo v2 to me. - Avatar X from FriendFoo
i tried in IE8 will try in Iron(chromium) - Avatar X from FriendFoo
Message sounds OAuth trouble. It should be 401 or 403 but there's a developer who said he gets 404 after revoking OAuth access. - NaHi from FriendFooV2
ummm, looks like it only happens in IE8. Iron logged in normally. will reload in IE8 - Avatar X from FriendFoo
And now it works again.. maybe it was just a little outage.. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2

Test 2: Browser/Windows Testing
Opera 10: Bad rendering, impossible to post. glitchy transitions from home to me to friends. search is impossible = NO GO - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Firefox 3.5: Renders perfectly, transitions are fine. Impossible to post: Not Entirely a Go - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
IE8 in Standards Mode: Good Rendering, Good Transitions, perfect posting and searching. only thing is that it triggers Script Warnings sometimes - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
IE8 in IE7 Mode: All Good - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Chrome/Iron 3: All Good. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
This are just the quick impression testings - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Faster in Windows 7, Fast in Vista, XP is the one with more problems for some reason. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Will Test in OpenSuse/Ubuntu in Chrome 3 and Firefox 3.5 for next test. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
will report later Yungsang - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Thanks a lot. Opera: I know that as same as v1. Firefox 3.5: Hmm. I will figure this out. IE: I got some JavaScript heavy processing warnings as well. I don't know why... - YungSang from FriendFooV2
I can't open the post dialog properly at the first time on my Firefox 3.5.1/Mac with a clean profile, either, as I mentioned at the other entry about Firefox issue. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
But after you install GreaseMonkey and my userscript, you will be able to use it on Firefox, as well. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
Can't we just use it in Bubbles the way we did with Rejawoo? - Kelly
Give me a few minute. I will create a bubble box for v2. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
testing - YungSang from FriendFooV2
Done. bubbles://yungsang.com/friendfoo/v2/friendfoo.bblbox Copy & paste the above url into the address bar in your browser as always. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
Wow, that was fast. But I am getting a script error and it's not working if I stop the script or not. - Kelly
Trying again. - Kelly
Just click 'no'. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
Ok, closed it out and retried it...clicked "no" and it worked. Thanks! XD - Kelly
You're welcome. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
I am getting that script error each time I leave a thread, or page. =( But I can live with it. - Kelly from FriendFooV2
Hmm.. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
Well, it's not EVERY time, but most of the time. Like I said, I can live with it. It's not a big deal. - Kelly from FriendFooV2
I see. That is a good hint for me. I will figure it out. Thanks anyway. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
Well, I will still use it, because I really like your apps. If you get it fixed, then that's great. If not, it's not a big deal. =) - Kelly from FriendFooV2
You are very kind. Thanks. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
I have tested also SSB scenarios.. Bubbles and Prism are a Epic Fail. only way to enjoy FriendFoo v2 right now is via Chrome/Iron 3 as SSB - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Hmm - YungSang from FriendFooV2
Good thing i resisted to invite people to it. we need to give time to implement it in App Engine and resolve its issues - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
I see. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
even testing it in Iron/Chrome 2 portable returns that it is not as fast as with Iron/Chrome 3 - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Also figured why the script warnings plague IE8 - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Did you? let me know. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
IE8 thinks it is unsafe code since it is running too fast.. The only other applications that caused this in IE8 were TurboJuitter and PubSubHub or whatever its name is. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
TurboJuitter is a Jquery Semi Real Time Twitter search widget - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
That app has some issue in IE8? - YungSang from FriendFooV2
it causes the same prompts. Turbojuitter is a tweaked version of the regular juitter. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Maybe javascript timers conflict .. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
the regular juitter causes the prompts but only after 30 minutes or so of running since it is also ram hungry. it was in the page of the WPC09. in the MSI Wind it caused this issue 30 minutes in. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
others that had high end machines simply reported the ram consume but not prompts. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
maybe.. but i can confirm it is a javascript related behavior more than anything. After all i have access to the biggest and more complex JS app there is.. and there is no issues with IE8 but the very same prompts after you have it running for 50 minutes. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
That app is known as Web Office Apps of course ;) - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Oh I see. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
the MS Ajax mode. the other mode is Silverlight 3 and that is not live entirely - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Office Web Apps got two modes. the MS Ajax mode and the SL3 mode. and there is not biggest use of Ajax ever than Excel Web. it is better than Zoho or Google Docs. that i assure you. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Interesting. SL3 mode - YungSang from FriendFooV2
yeah. only got access for less than 24hrs. they are very cautious of it. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
but nevermind. i am sure that the issue is indeed in the javascript behavior and something about IE8 guidelines or something. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
I understand. Thanks for the report and info. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
in Opera 10 and Firefox 3.5 it is also a issue since when you click post you get the spinner and the spinner never ends loading. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
if you want pictures of that. i can load them here. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Opera 10, too? Though I've never tested it on Opera. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
ok. let me take those shots. BRB - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
don't need them. thanks. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
I can test by myself on VMWare. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
oh ok. so you know what i mean?. but what the hell already loaded jing and opera.. now you will have them - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
But I think that it is not good for Opera anyway. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
Thanks. let me see. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
I knew it about the HTML/CSS rendering. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
both got the never ending spinner thing. you already know the issues in IE8 and IE8(IE7 mode) or IE7 for that matter - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
I believe that Firefox javascript rending engine causes that endless loading on a post dialog with a long-polling JSONP. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
but can also load them up. if you want. no problem. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Yeah. I know the javascript prompts in IE. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
ok. now since i don't want to open another thread. wait a second on this one. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Testing something else. shots being uploaded. wait - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
ok - YungSang from FriendFooV2
Oh I have never seen this dialog. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
Firefox 3 en ubuntu gets the same prompts that IE8/7 get in Windows. but the post, transitionts and reply work perfectly - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Firefox 3.5 is worse and got all the issues of the firefox 3.5 windows versions plus the ones of opera 10 in windows and the ones of IE8 in windows. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Firefox 3 on ubuntu is ok execpt the dialog? - YungSang from FriendFooV2
? didn't understand your question. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
i am prepliying from pubuntu ;) - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Do you mean that firefox 3 on ubuntu is ok except the prompts? - YungSang from FriendFooV2
but firefox 3.5 - YungSang from FriendFooV2
>>79: oh! firefox 3? or 3.5? - YungSang from FriendFooV2
Chrome Linux seems fine - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
nice - YungSang from FriendFooV2
Chrome on Ubuntu, right? - YungSang from FriendFooV2
yes. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
firefox 3 is fine but got IE like prompts. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Firefox 3.5 is worse than in windows. even worse than opera - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
but chrome linux is actually fine... and firefox 3 is mostly fine - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
so whatever that is plaguing Firefox 3.5 must be also something that plagues IE8 - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
That prompt pic on Firefox is very helpful for debugging . with script line info. Thanks. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
just wanted you to see that i actually do the tests everywhere. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
i know. that is why i wanted you to see it. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Thanks again. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
mac debugging is of course on your side. :P - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
firefox 3.5 in the mac must be also bad - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
yeah :) - YungSang from FriendFooV2
oh i forgot about safari 4 in windows.. will add it here later. but in windows Safari and Opera are the very less used browsers. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
But Firefox 3.5 with my usercript is fine and never seen that prompts at all in mac. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
even in linux Opera is already the third browser behind Chrome/Iron Linux. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
quite pathetic.. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
hmm - YungSang from FriendFooV2
even safari windows beats opera.. :P - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
sad sad sad. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
I like Safari. anyway time to get a rest. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
Thanks everything as usual. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
ok. well. now you know. My report for the day is done. hope to be helpful - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
already tested every combinations from linux to windows to SSB. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
Yeah definitely helpful :) - YungSang from FriendFooV2
ok. c-y then. let me know what happens later. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
yes. but I'm going to have a business trip for a few weeks from this coming Sunday. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
ah ok. good trip and good luck. - Avatar X from FriendFooV2
I will not be able to get a time to test. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
you know where to find me when you get back. :D - Avatar X from FriendFooV2

It works best for me in Chrome, so that's what I'm using now, because the script errors in Bubbles tend to get on the nerves after a while. It's working perfectly in Chrome on Vista. - Kelly
@Kelly Brown yes. that is pretty much the consensus so far. - Avatar X from FriendFoo

I can't login to FriendFooV2, today. "The application you are using sent an invalid request to FriendFeed."
It seems your OAuth token has been expired. Please reload the FriendFoo page from the beginning. - YungSang from FriendFooV2

I was not aware that. need some expiry mgmt then - NaHi from m.ctor.org
I'm not sure that. I guess. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
One of the sequences: 1. go to the login page (got a request token) 2. login from another browser. 3. try to login from the previous browser. (with old request token) 4. failed. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
YungSang
For Fluid users: Please add "https://friendfeed.com/account..." into the Preferences > Advanced setting to use OAuth.
Put it again to avoid linking. The string should be 'https' + '://friendfeed.com/account/*' . - YungSang from FriendFooV2
YungSang
The connection icon at the header bar indicates whether the real-time updates is active or not. When it loses the connection and/or the OAuth authorization, the icon will be gone. Then you may have to reload the FriendFoo page. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
A yellow number at the right side of each entry's row indicates that you haven't read the entry and/or it's comments yet. When you click the number to show comments, the yellow color will turn to white. And when there is no more unread entry, the page title at the header will be white, as well. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
By clicking an each entry's row area, you can show/hide an action menu bar for the entry. (For iPhone users: To show/hide the action menu bar, flick right to left at the entry's row.) The action menu bar in the picture; (left to right) - mark it as read - like it - hide it - translate it - YungSang from FriendFooV2
The number on the Home button icon at the footer bar indicates the number of unread entries. When you are at the Home feed page, you can mark all as read by clicking the Home button icon. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
YungSang
For Firefox users: Unfortunately FriendFoo v2 doesn't work on Firefox properly due to its JavaScript rendering. So you might need to install GreaseMonkey and a userscript which can takes care of the real-times updates communications for Firefox. http://yungsang.com/friendf...

Recommended Notification options: - Home Feed - Direct messages - My discussions If you don't want the real-time updates, you can set all off.
Tips: If you have a lot of friends and groups in your Home feed, you might want to make a friend list for the real-time updates and set the desktop notification for the list on and for home off. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
Even if you set so, you can check all friends' and groups' feeds by clicking the 'Friends' button at the footer menu bar. - YungSang from FriendFooV2
