I find it amazing that Google still resists seeing itself as a commercial entity. Are people interested in contributing their knowledge really going to choose Knol over Wikipedia? Doubt it. Reminds me a little of Microsoft. (I think that's the first time I've been to Slate.com in five years.)

When I first heard about the Wikipedia idea I thought it was not going to work and I was wrong. The same happened to me when Google announced Knol, perhaps this time I am right. It could work but not as it is right now.
