On the second question, no. Not at all. But if I did make posts or tweets at work, those are not only an obvious distraction, but I have colleagues (and direct reports) following on Twitter... so they get alerts to their cell phone. That's not the example I want to set. :-)
- Louis Gray
1) Not really, but that's not because I'm at work. 2) No. 3) Totally. Part of my job description is to understand, engage, and distill new technology down and figure out ways our clients can use them, so it's known I'm using social media.
- Mark Trapp
1. Rarely. 2. No. 3. FriendFeed, not Facebook, and only during lunch, though I must admin it's pretty damn hard to not peek into the FriendFeed river of noise during the day.
- Brian Daniel Eisenberg

Hey, does anyone else see this item as blue instead of black? About YOUR questions: 1) rarely. 2) never, they take way too long. 3) Yes to FF, No to FB.
- AJ Kohn
Even though I'm the traffic cop for my company I work to set a good example. That said, here I am! ;) I'll crack FF and Twitter open periodically throughout the day, but I can't allow myself to comment on nearly as many posts as I'd like. I'm not a very good blogger, but even if I was I don't think I'd post from the office. Not during business hours.
- Jim Stanger
Twitter, FriendFeed and blog are part of work :)
- TDavid
I do yes. Both. Twitter, blog, facebook, whatever else there is.

Twitter, FriendFeed, & Google Reader at work. Part of my job description is to keep up on the latest trends within the web development industry. Twitter, FriendFeed, & Google Reader is how I keep up with those trends. It's a very nice loophole I must say.
- Chris Rodgers
Twitter, FF and Google reader, yes. Facebook is usually an off-work activity.
- Joel Gray
Can't do Twitter or Friendfeed as they're blocked. I do sometimes Google Reader in my lunch hour.
- Greg Gannicott

- Dawn M. Armfield
Does anyone's company have a policy on Internet use at work?
- Mike Fruchter
Yes we have a really intense one related to all sorts of elements of internet use. Not just time wasting online during office hours but also legal elements related to internet use, anything from spilling company secrets do getting handed over to authorities if your computer is found to have been used for illegal activities (hacking, child pornography etc). Its enormous
- Jon Dillon

- Susan Beebe
