I'm really enjoying the rebirth of FriendFeed, are you?
I love that this was posted via Twitter. Twitter loses...again. - Mark Wilson
Steady she goes matey. I've felt some lulls around here but also have a sense of constant growth. Yesterday was something special though. A re-ignition of sorts. Could be tied to Tad's Meme, created a closer community. The emergence of the new FF had us all cheering, rooting for this place and those who work so hard behind the scenes. I would bet that yesterday set a record for "Likes." - michael sean wright
I think FriendFeed's new design has sparked more people to use it, and non-stop promotion from the likes of LG, Scoble, etc. - Gavin
Jury's still out for me. FriendFeed is starting to get way too meta and 4chan. - Mark Trapp
In what respect Charlie? - Jason Carreira
What do you mean of rebirth? - Steve Chou
coughcurmudgeoncough *wink* at Mark. - Anika
What Wilson said. - Josh Haley
I think lists really change the way you can use friendfeed. So in Mark Trapp's case, you can move those people who are too "meta and 4chan" to a "meta and 4chan" list that you only check daily. - Rob Diana
Rob: definitely. The reason it's not necessarily a slam dunk for me is something Mike Fruchter brought up the other day: it takes a lot of time to do list management. Some sessions I feel I spend the majority of my time managing lists than enjoying FriendFeed proper. - Mark Trapp
lol, Jason. - Alejandro
Mark, I spent 2 hours last weekend doing list management to get people into the groups I wanted. Now, when I add someone I find the right bucket. Absolutely no additional work after the initial investment. I have added something like 30 people in the last few days. - Rob Diana
Rob: I think you and I are maybe using lists a bit differently. I first tried the topical breakdown of lists, and it didn't work so well, as it seems most people talk about multiple topics. So, if I went to my web2.0 list, it was filled with people talking politics and memes as well as web2.0. If FriendFeed allowed feed segregation based on keywords, this is an easy fix. Since it doesn't, I've been using lists to filter out people who routinely give me stuff I don't care about: with this usage pattern, it requires daily maintenance. For me, it's a decision between lots of noise or lots of maintenance, neither of which are ideal. Technical issues aside, I've identified the source for the majority of the noise is now coming from the hourly memes, which was why I brought that up. - Mark Trapp
Yeah even I like the new FriendFeed interface. Two features which I like very much are "List" and "related entries". - Sudar
Mark, I see what you mean. I aggressively hide as well. So I have a list of "news" people (TC, RWW, mashable, Scoble, Louis Gray, etc). That list includes Winer who I tend to read only 10%, the other 90% is politics which I hide. There is no "perfect" solution until we get keyword filtering, but that is not here yet. - Rob Diana
