I notice that new subscriptions are automatically added to one's home feed. I consider that kind of a bug.

Tina: yes, that is correct. The http://friendfeed.com/friends... page is just a list of people that we think could use some friend recommendations since they have few subscriptions. If you click on any of the "Recommend" links on that page, you will see the same, standard "Recommend friends" dialog.

If there’s something about friends and family not having their account set up properly, I’d prefer a way to recommend them the streams they forgot to add. For example, I could tell them “You forgot to add your Digg stream and your fourth and eight blog. Here’s the link.” Then he could just click the recommendation and had it set up easily.

As I have lots of subscriptions the pop-up window is *really* slow and always has been since the new UI (same thing for amending friends lists). :-( I like the feature though, so I could make a new friends list of my most recommended users and use that each time for each user?

Thanks Enrique, I'll post some more soon. They are a little more obvious than these ones. As Luke points out; without being able to look closely it's impossible to tell. He's right; but up close it's more obvious. I'll upload the originals to Picasa later, and then you'll be able to zoom in with any photo viewer and see for yourselves. Excellent pictures - how long did it take you to scan the photographs into Photoshop and then edit them? The only pencil that has come into contact with these "drawings" is the Photoshop pencil. I'm amazed that people are still posting these photographs of animals and calling them pencil drawings. This is at least the third case I can remember (and there are probably more) of this happening. The myth about them being drawings was debunked long ago. It's also funny that whenever they get posted the person posting them doesn't make it clear that they aren't the artist, exactly as you have done.

The people you refer do don't join "just to slam" someone, they are concerned members of the online art community that want to see real art appreciated and fake art or photos being passed off as drawings revealed for what they really are. Artists such as Brian Duey, Armin Mersmann, Paul Lung, Zindy Nielsen,and many others do not receive the appreciation they deserve because of scams like this.

When you've seen these same pictures posted multiple times by people that just find them on the internet and claim they are pencil drawings, when it has already been established on multiple occasions that they are not, the "benefit of the doubt" approach seems a little too generous. People post these images and claim they're drawings to get views for their own site or blog or page or whatever it is they post it on. It's wrong and it needs to be stopped.

I can understand that, but you should also keep in mind that everyone is not as well-versed in the issue as you are. All I'm saying is that you would probably be more effective in this case if you weren't setting this up as a us-vs.-them, "must destroy with the validity my argument!" attitude when talking to a guy who's been actively having a discussion on the issue in what seems to me (having been around when he first posted the images and the follow up thread and what not) to be good faith.

I would probably qualify as an image analysis expert, but there's no way to prove that online. One thing we can do is look at color. Well I use Tweetdeck as my desktop Twitter client and Tweetie on my iPhone so that's not the issue for me. Tweets pretty much come here in real-time again so there isn't the issue with batch import spam. But I do have issues with duplicates when I post natively from Posterous and Tweets come in. I'm also sure many tweets (such as @ replies) are out of context here as well. But I do see some likes on some of my Tweets and generate conversations from others here as well. I'm torn.

Mark, can I ask a favour. Create an account here on FriendFeed called something like Krynskytweets and have the Display name and profile pic the same as this account. That way we still get an offical Native Twitter stream that we can subscribe to if desired that allows us to comment and share here (not as a closed imaginary friend) without you having to worry about it's inclusion in your offical account. Yea, Jesse...that's one of several reasons I did it on Buzz. I also removed syncing my Twitter stream to FB primarily because I have a very diverse set of friends over there. I like how now I can selectively choose to send status messages on the desktop using Tweetdeck as well as using the selective tweets app which sends them using the #fb hashtag.

I usually read all the comments of something I'm interested in. I don't just read the top and bottom ones so I don't care where I come in. I comment on what I want to because I want to say something. Now if you could just do something about FB's scam ads. Yesterday one promised a free iPad if I would just test it. Had Jobs' picture on it. They had my age(from FB?) so they could target it. I clicked through for laughs. Asks for email and says no Apple affiliation. Also said "Participation Required" so either I get locked in to a $10/month scam or they sell data off a questionnaire and I probably never see an iPad. It's the Internet but FB ads really degrade the trust and FB needs trust.

I clustered my Facebook friends recently and was amused to see categories like mathematicians, computational biologists, people I know from Google, people I met through my sister--all falling out of just the graph information alone.
