rumor is that there will be things that will only run on it. - Noah David Simon
IE already has the non-tech crowd which is most of the mainstream. The non-tech crowd doesn't care about a faster browser. All Chrome is going to do is bifurcate the tech savvy and split market share with Firefox for a while. But eventually older people die and are replaced by younger people who are generally more willing to try newer things. It will take a while though for Chrome to go anywhere significant. - Thomas Hawk
if the tech crowd is the market then it is dead already. It had better have some function. (my guess there will be some things that we won't be able to do without) What does this mean? It means that we will have to use multiple browsers and that is going 2be horrible. Example: If something like a next generation Seesmic decides it will only run on Chrome, I guarantee it will have a place. This is unfortunate, but it won't be the last time that someone figures out the best way2develop a market by division - Noah David Simon
Chrome is faster, and easier to use. two good reasons for me to switch. If only there was a Ubuntu version, with support for extensions... - roel
Derek: privacy is dead. Welcome to the Internet. - Robert Scoble
Google's desktop software is famous for gross invasions of privacy. But all they have to do is point at their motto "Don't Be Evil" and we're supposed to trust them. - Aram Zucker-Scharff via twhirl
I read somewhere that they have the same clause in the user agreement of chrome as in some other product of theirs that caused some controversy a few months back. Can't remember which article it was...i guess i'll have to look through my google chrome history for it ;) hehe - Eldon via fftogo
What's the issue? I read the notice. I agreed to it. If I don't like it, I don't use the software. - Khürt Williams via twhirl
Simple: don't look at anything you wouldn't want others to know you were looking at. :) - Justin Long
I think it is about consent - consumers should have the ability to explicitly consent to the use of pieces of information (their profile, behavior, preferences, etc.) gathered thru tracking or other means. it should be more of a fair - and mutually understood - transaction/exchange. - David
