"My favorite is how some sales taxes work. If person A buys a product from Company B, they pay sales tax (and probably a gas tax getting to company B). If company B gets the product from a whole sales store, they pay sales tax, plus a gas tax for shipping. If the whole sales store has the product made from industry C, they pay sales tax, plus gas tax unless it is by rails. If industry C imports the parts and just does assembly, they pay sales tax plus a possible tariff. So the one product could possibly have 4 sales taxes, up to 3 gas taxes, and a tariff. How freaking awesome is that? Some states/countries will exempt manufacturers and/or wholesalers from sales taxes, but not all do. For the United States it varies by state (and of course, depends if it is going cross-state or cross-city or cross-county, etc)"
