Just did a speed test with Singtel and Witopia to ISPs in California via dslreports.com -- download speed was very similar whether I was on the SFO based vpn or not ~1700Kb/s - what was odd was that *upload* speed was 2x as fast when using VPN. Oh yeah, also noted Hulu now hates Witopia, so I am sad panda, and also disappointed with Hulu for being...
Having trouble puzzling out utorrent behavior - it looks like upload rate needs to be capped somewhere south of 100k or it strangles d/l completely. Hmmmm
I cap mine at 50k, works well.

Youtube and MSN video is pretty much loaded or max buffered immediately. Singtel wins *big* on video sites - it's also peak time, very nice.

Took a bit longer than I expected for Singtel installation, but they traced the crap performance of my earlier ADSL problems with Pacific down to very shoddily done connections to the house wiring coming in from the outside - that's a relief. Just as a quick test Warcraft latency showed 198ms to 280ms or so just now. Going to check Starhub in a...
Interesting & less than scientific, but it looks like they are pretty comparable for a deserted part of Darnassus, walking up and back the same road for 2-3min. The both start around mid 200's latency then creep toward 300ms as you go - I think I've shut down all bandwidth hogging apps. Later I'll try a crowded test in Dalaran and see which takes the lead.
