I now get the FriendFeed Feedback posts as a Best of Day email so it doesn't fill up my feed, but I don't miss feedback. I also set up a "Best of Day" email for my "Technology people" friend list so I get a pretty good overview of tech news every day via email. - Bret Taylor

Ahsan: it is somewhat random right now when the emails are sent, but we built in the backend capability to control what time they are sent, and we plan on exposing that control to users in the future. Right now, it is kind of random - sorry! - Bret Taylor

Wow, this is really neat! And it links into the idea I expressed earlier, re: reducing signup friction / enabling limited guest privileges. Imagine if I could embed one of my FF rooms on my personal web site, and enable people to subscribe to that feed by e-mail with just a couple of clicks... rather than saying "you can get e-mail notifications but you have to sign up for Friendfeed first." So this works on groups too, cool! But we still cannot see Best of for groups on the site on friends lists. :-( I have several friends lists that include just groups and when I select to view the best of the page it's empty (even though if I got to the individual best of for those groups there are entries there). - Kol Tregaskes

In some ways when you press like you are sharing because you bubbling up the post, on the other hand when you have liked you can reshare the entry so indirectly you are also liking it but putting it a place i.e a room where others could share and hopefully enjoy/find of relevant interest in the future. - Jason

Yeah you could reshare into private rooms but then you lose conversation and possibly more related links. I'm happy that its' called 'Like,' I'm "liking" the article not "sharing" the article, the original OP is sharing it. If you want to share it then there is a 'resahre' option for this. I don't agree with having dislike added, let's try and be positive with things instead of adding negatively to a great community here. Nicholas: The upside for Facebook is they just bought an engineering team that's built many of the feature's Facebook's going to need to stay competitive. The upside for FriendFeed's engineering team is $$$ and the ability to build system for a wider audience. Tyson, I agree that Reader has very little discoverability and the new features just help with searching. Facebook is a little better for discovery as the network is significantly more powerful, but they still have a ways to go. - Rob Diana

Doesn't anyone think FriendFeed is ripping off what came before it just a little? The liking system is very similar to Digg's votes, and the topic+comment system is a forum in AJAX clothing. There will always be innovation on the web, we just tend to see a lot of innovation being built off others' ideas. - Mitch

The obvious comparison will be to BeejiveIM, since they both do the same thing: provide a multi-client chat app offering push notifications on your iPhone. We'll have a hands-on with Beejive later, but this is how Agile Messenger (iTunes link) works. Oh, and we're giving away five promo codes so you can try it yourself, just check the end of this post. The first screen in Agile Messenger is a series of switches for each protocol supported. These switches make it easy to see what you're connecting to when you tap the Connect button. There's support for ICQ, MSN, AIM, Yahoo, Jabber and Google. You can only log in to one account per service, however, so if you have 2 Google accounts, you're going to log in to one at a time.
