As dreadful as this event is unfolding in Mumbai, on the cusp of Thanksgiving, I really wanna stick my head in the sand, rest, and just enjoy myself, my friends and family. Feeling a bit conflicted about it all. :(
I know, Derrick. I feel so helpless sometimes. All I know to do is pray, send warm thoughts... but that can feel so weak and ineffective.

Derrick - it's understandable. It is awful and Thanksgiving is supposed to be a joyous food-filled holiday. Don't feel bad for feeling that way. It's hard to deal with something so mind-boggling horrible and dark on what is supposed to be a day for friends and food.

Even without a holiday up here, all I've seen about Mumbai is a couple of tweets...and I really don't feel like checking the news sites and getting depressed about whatever's happened. EDIT: And it feels sad that I'm so jaded and just "sick of hearing about terrorism."

It's okay Derrick. Just hug your loved ones close and be thankful for what you have. Sometimes that's all we can do. You're such a good soul with a compassionate heart. People like you make the world better in the face of evil and hate.

The burden of being sensitive. Sigh. Thanks, everyone.

It can be a burden, Derrick, but it's also a wonderful gift. I'm so glad you're you. {{{{{ Derrick }}}}}

Heather's right - and also rather wonderful herself. Hugs to you both. Good night kids.

D, I truly hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving with your family. So much to be grateful for - From an Indian and a former resident of Mumbai :)
