"Check back here tomorrow - I'll have the full, very-detailed review of the Nook posted on GeekTonic by then. I agree with many of the reviewers who say the UI is a bit underwhelming in its current form, but I think the Nook has a great deal of potential - potential I think that will be unleashed with future firmware updates. And it has some big positives over the Kindle also."

"John, All of the benefits of using a HTPC - as many tuners as you want to have so you can record as many at a time as you want, movie & music server, etc etc. I'm not a big fan of having the XBox360 as the extender though."

"I'm checking on that to see what David (author of this post) has to say. I've also been asked if this solution works with multiple HD-PVR's - not sure on that either."
- Brent Evans
"Did it in the past Ben? I know the HD-PVR used to have issues, but my HD-PVR has been humming along (silently) for over a month without rebooting or locking up at all. That's with SageTV though so I'll have to see what others say using this method"

"I think Netflix makes it pretty clear . It very clearly states "we cannot refund partial months" But they absolutely do credit you for the time it is on hold - I know cause I have mine on hold as I type this ;)"

"Perhaps, but I think a device like a Kindle provides more freedom for a vision impaired person. Imagine if they could actually navigate the Kindle bookstore, purchase and download a book without assistance and then "read" a book, newspaper or magazine with no help at all. Not necessarily a cheaper solution, but a great way to gain freedom imo."

"Very informative article Ganesh. Choosing the right video card is one of the things I always struggle with when building HTPC's - even more than choosing the CPU and case believe it or not. I'll definitely be referring back to this next time I do a build!"
- Brent Evans
"Thanks for the heads up - I've corrected it now. I'm gonna have to fire that proofreader - oh wait that's me :( If anyone notices any other problems let me know. I've been looking at it far to long to notice the obvious stuff by this point..."

"Perhaps I should have said "If you use SageMC, there’s nothing left to do ON THIS STEP – it just works. You then move on to the "Settings for Comskip" section right below that. Hope that helps."

"Graphics card really doesn't need to be much on the server unless you'll be doing playback on it - integrated graphics will work fine. The CPU can be pretty weak and still handle things pretty well although I'd recommend you go with a beefier CPU - even a dual core or better if you have that option. Reason being, my server does transcoding for Hulu & Netflix via PlayOn and it does commercial detection while watching shows so both of those things use up CPU. Be sure and throw in a bunch of memory too - it does use up memory on the server. I have 2GB on my server, but am planning to bump it up to 4GB soon."

"Actually, the replacement for SageTweet called SageAlert offers the following: Twitter, Growl, eMail and other notifications so yes it's very possible http://forums.sagetv.com/forums...?..."

"You want to pick up the latest comskip zip file - as of now http://www.kaashoek.com/files... although he does updates regularly so always check to pick up the most recent one."
- Brent Evans
"You're welcome. I was having trouble with comskip as well so I documented the process of dirmon2. I actually like it better than comskipmonitor anyway so it was a good move. I hope to try out DVRMSToolbox in the near future as well - and of course will do a writeup for that one too."

"I think the XL version might just be better in some ways, but I'm betting it will be a problem in other ways since google controls the UI so much more. Will it affect SageTV's HD Extender/Players? Time will tell, but I think the answer is yes. It just depends how long it will take google to get in touch with them..."

"Thanks to the folks at Gadget Wisdom for the guest post. MythTV is something I'd like to expose GeekTonic readers to a little more and this is an excellent start for that."
- Brent Evans
"Maybe I'm being over reactive here, but I think it would definitely motivate me to go to a blockbuster, redbox or whatever alternative if it was a flick I wanted to see at home as soon as it was available. I don't go out to the theater very often - even if its a show I really want to see I'll often wait until it's on Blu-ray to watch it on my home theater setup. Then again... for most movies you're right that I probably would barely notice."

"Anyone want to loan me a CableCard tuner for a week so I can test this out with SageTV's 3rd party "experimental" workaround? I'd pay for shipping :)"
