I'm surprised your Inspiron 9400 has those Intel graphics. My 9300 has an ATI mobile radeon card in it. Those Intel integrated chipsets have been the bane of game developers the world over for many years. - Paul Reynolds

At first I thought separating /boot from the rest of the system was risky, but I just realised that it's genius. With a few low-level tweaks you can have the old system ready to boot just by selecting a different entry on the bootloader menu! - Andrew Herron
