I make a distinction: when people ask if I'm a community organizer, I say no, I'm a community builder, perhaps even a community animator. The derivation of the word animator is animare, which is Latin for "make more lively, move to action." My work is essentially to help draw out and enliven the spirit of the people and of their place.

Plone's commenting story is getting a bit long in the tooth architecturally, features-wise, and UI-wise. The aim of this year's summer of code is very much to build something that will be part of the next major release of Plone. To do that, we'll need this year's GSoC project to deliver the brunt of the code required for the next generation Plone commenting.
