The picture was awesome. But ... you know you're a giant geek when you're bugged by the sentence about sensors in the suit overheating... optical mocap is done with passive reflectors on the suit; all the electronics are external.

"awesome. But ... optical mocap is done with passive reflectors on the suit; all the electronics are external" THIS QUOTE is exhibit A as to why the court has ruled that the FriendFeed community rocks. Case closed.

As I watch this I try to think back to the last time I read a comment thread on youtube, and then back to when (if?) I ever found any value there. ... nope, can't remember ever seeing anything of value in youtube comments.

One feature I enjoy about the wife's mac is the built in spell checking when I am leaving a comment. But, twitter does make me type with U's R's and Y's damn you 140 limit :)

Sorry! Salar de Uyuni is the world’s largest salt flat. It is located in southwest Bolivia. Due to its large size, smooth surface, high surface reflectivity when covered with shallow water, and minimal elevation deviation, Salar de Uyuni makes an ideal target for the testing and calibration of remote sensing instruments on orbiting satellites used to study the Earth. In addition to...

New meme: here's a totally random way to make your new random band's new random album cover. Post one! Go to “Wikipedia.” Hit “random” and the first article you get is the name of your band. Then go to “Random Quotations” and the last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album. Then, go to Flickr and click on “Explore the Last Seven Days” and the third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover. Anyway, you're now looking at my new side project, which will probably sound like Evanescence if they were on 4AD.

"My personal trainer sometimes gives me an odd piece of advice during workouts: "Relax your face." For a long time, I found this advice confusing. Isn't physical exertion supposed to be expressed in grimaces? I thought of the face as a pressure-relief valve that helps emit the pain the body is experiencing. But the trainer suggested I think about it the other way around — that controlling the face can help control the mind."

The biggest pain with socialmedian is having to log in every time I go there, can I have a persistent encrypted cookie please? (Never thought I would ask for that kind of cookie either) :-)

it's a great idea, because the challenge for all social sites is to get the user to the "critical point" when the social value becomes evident. I know many sites that were probably very clever but I never tried long enough to reach that point. Socialmedian was at risk of that for me, but a new batch of contacts might change that.

"I love Paris! And who doesn’t? I walk the streets like a kid, as interested in the old cobblestones as the old architecture. I picture red wine crashing to the ground and spilling through the cracks, as in the opening of the Dickens novel. And then I look up, and everything is right out of a movie. I tend to ignore the tourists and idiots because they kind of take away from the… je ne sais quoi! Here is a shot of the Hôtel de Ville, just about a 15 minute walk at midnight from Notre Dame, where I had just shot a stirring sunset shot. I wish I could freeze sunset and run around and hit every landmark at the same time… but since it’s impossible… I suppose I just have to go back another time. Anyone want to join me?"
