Great talk with the development team this morning about http://www.babelwith.me. Excited to see where we are going with it!
Very sweet stuff LC crew! - Gabe Taviano

i'm trying to think of ways my church can use friendfeed. any ideas?
best idea i've had is to have a private "staff" area where best links, articles, etc are shared and discussed. - Tony
our pastor just started blogging, and he's thinking over spending a short amount of time mid-week live on the web. seems like this might be a decent place to try that out. - Gabe Taviano
Maybe this would be good for a volunteer team chat or life group - Amanda Sims
think it could be spectacular for both of those amanda. - Tony
friendfeed lifegroup. epic - Tyler Gillies
way better than google groups - Tyler Gillies
think i may test that with mine - they will miss live video - but live interaction could be cool - still processing how that would work for a real time situation - Tony
kind of reminds me a bit of paratweet.com, live tweets sent in (but you can moderate those) - Gabe Taviano
Yes, Gabe, or like tweetchat - Amanda Sims
sorta - but also - we will see all of each others youtube, blog posts, google reader shared, etc. as points of conversation as well - Tony
tony: make a blog post with embeded live video and below the live video embed a friendfeed topic - Tyler Gillies
Can definitely see this being a spot for people to come after the church service / experience. Staff posting a topic for the sermon and getting feedback / questions / discussions. - Gabe Taviano
maybe iframe the topic friendfeed page? under the live video? - Tony
I guess this means I have link all my other stuff to friendfeed. Hm. - Amanda Sims
OOOOH Gabe, yes, or creative programming to brainstorm ideas in real time. - Amanda Sims
Our creative team would be thrilled to be using this to brainstorm sermon series ideas. Nice idea, Amanda! - Gabe Taviano
can you moderate comments? - Tyler Gillies
yes after posted, click on the edit drop down - Tony
guessing Tony sees that as admin of this group? - Gabe Taviano
hmm maybe - you can see it on any posts you've started in FF i believe - Tony
i see it now - Tyler Gillies
So the individual that started the topic would need to be present, I guess? - Gabe Taviano
yeah, if you are worried that something crazy would come up - Tony
but I sorta like crazy... lol - Tony
Guessing this would be really nice for multi-site staff. Getting ready to ramp up Digital Disciple groups in different cities, will definitely be utilizing this. - Gabe Taviano
digital disciple. like. - Tyler Gillies
Gabe: for sure - Tony
Tyler - http://www.DigitalDisciples.net - free monthly tech / Bible study gatherings started here in OH. - Gabe Taviano
Would compliment the UNLG Tony has going on as well? - Gabe Taviano
Gabe: potentionally - I see this as being way better of an environment for out Group vs. what we have in facebook. If it could also function as the realtime place for interaction is also interesting - Tony
How about this...create a group and constantly update with church news/information. That way subscribers could get updates by email or by simply tuning into the feed. - Bill Lunsford
yeah but I think a blog is better for that in regards to actual usuability by a majority of end users - Tony
Tony: good point! I guess the focus could be micro-grouped as well as macro-grouped. Easy enough to manipulate and safeguard. - Bill Lunsford
Groups have RSS feeds here, right? Curious if you can limit RSS feed to just post and not all of the comments. Would be nice for people to receive alert for topic, then jump over to see comments. - Gabe Taviano
yeah - it just depends. I think for groups though - this is spectacular. not sure as a news posting environment cause it is still heavily social and based on relationships - Tony
I agree, Tony. More for interaction than information. - Amanda Sims
Was thinking more towards prayer requests or needs people have locally. A little confusing to think of it as a prayer center / Craigs List type app. Yikes. - Gabe Taviano
Tony
New group for peeps that followed here tonight http://friendfeed.com/ministr... < check it!

Starting to think that FriendFeed will find a very cozy place in my social media flow.
I have been playing with with Friendfeed for a while - still working on getting the filtering right - or something so that it can finally be usable. - Tony
I love FriendFeed. It's the best, most impressive tool nobody uses! :) - Terry Storch
agreed!!! Well, at least that nobody I know really uses ... would love to change that. - Tony
i'd love to see more people on friendfeed, but at the moment it feels a lot like twitter a year ago as far adoption/saturation. ff is definitely the better service, imo. - Scott Magdalein
how many people are you following? think I over did it with the facebook/twitter friend add -haha - Tony
I'm following 20 atm. keeping it *very* selective. mostly people/feeds that add insight or value to my life with their posts. keeping most personal contacts on twitter and facebook. - Scott Magdalein
haha - i guess that is why my 700 + was feeling a little noisy - puahaha - Tony
whoa, i can imagine that 700+ would feel a little loud! - Scott Magdalein
