Friendfeed is coming to Seesmic Desktop and web, says Loic (see comments)
Picture 1.png
This may get me switched back to using Seesmic but will @loic release a iPhone app? - Vinko
Vinko: yes. Loic told me he's working on iPhone app too. - Robert Scoble
Now if only socialscope would put it in their client for Blackberry's. - Sheryl
Here's another vote for a Seesmic iPhone app! - Susan Beebe from BuddyFeed
I still haven't met a FF application I could stand to use for more than a few minutes. - Craig Eddy
I saw an early alpha of the iPhone app. Looked good. I also saw an early alpha of Seesmic web and the way it advanced between the alpha and launch was dramatic - so I expect the iPhone client will track the same way. - Steve Rubel from email
Robert that's really great. I definitely will consider switching back when the Seesmic iPhone app arrives. - Vinko
Will get me,too, switched back to using Seesmic ;) Looking forward to hear from Loic soon - Ali BULUT
I interpret this as a strong sign favorable towards Friendfeed - lelapin
hurray - Thomas Power
This might just tempt me away from Tweetdeck... - Andrew Terry
If they add friendfeed to the web app, I'll maybe use it instead of PeopleBrowsr. But then again, peoplebrowsr has implemented friendfeed in a very good way already. - Svartling
Great News ! - Jean-Charles
You gotta keep an eye on Yahoo homepage. They have FB integration and someday may integrate Twitter (they have the 'what are you doing now'). Seesmic is way ahead, but Yahoo has mainstream adoption - Jeremiah Owyang
Jeremiah, I agree. The new Yahoo homepage is impressive. - Steve Rubel from email
Im not sure it's impressive, as it's evolutionary, not revolutionary. When Wave comes out, it could dash the shine that Yahoo has. - Jeremiah Owyang
I like ff's web design - kang
Android app, please? :D - Rishabh Mishra (p248)
Where do I sign up! I'm praying your web app will make my life of FF, FB, Twitter ETC more manageable!!!!! W/out crashing my puters AND still let me see my Home feeds! - Arleen Anderson
I'm thinking that this is the type of post that would be good reason for FriendFeed to have a "Love" click option next to the "Like" click option so that we can register better levels of our emotion towards news we read in others' streams! - Chris Aldrich
good news! - Jeroen De Miranda
I have been using Seesmic from the beginning this is GREAT news! - Robyn Hawk
Great news. Been looking for a good Friendfeed app - Barry Howell
I'm quite excited for Seesmic's FriendFeed iPhone app. - Amir
yes yes yes - Loic Le Meur
Don't forget Android when developing mobile apps! - Travis B. Hartwell
I agree with Vinko; this would be a good reason to switch back to Seesmic - Anne Mai Bertelsen
Might be late... but how is the Facebook acquisition going to effect this? I can't stand the way that app takes over Friendfeed. - Arleen Anderson
Neville Hobson
@klout thanks. Like the look of what you're developing! http://www.klout.net/

Very nice. If only they'll change the background color we'll be set. - Brandon Mendelson
thanks for clarifying @jmortonscott! was wondering the same thing. - Elizabeth Koh
ha, my husband suggested that before I posted it, but I figured there was something else at play there ;) I don't think he's tracking in the pic! - Tamar Weinberg

Nice, Yahoo! ad rep called asking for whomever does our ad buys - we put Zack, our intern on with him, it's amusing, he just said something about "Pay Per Cut Advertising"
That's hilarious. Please tell me someone is recording the conversation for quality control purposes. :) - Kenneth
thats for emo based ads - sean percival

Okay. It's a big day. First one back to the gym since wrenching my back at end of March. Have done two light runs but this should be good...

Biggest one day percentage drop in the Dow since Black Monday in 1987. Nasdaq took it worse than the Dow today down over 9%. Apple lost 18% but most all big cap tech stocks got hammered. Futures indicate that things will continue to fall tomorrow when the market reopens.
With a plummet like that running up to the closing bell, I'm going to be surprised if things don't open tomorrow below where they closed today. - FFing Enigma (aka Tina)

Don't really "like" this, but thanks for sharing. - Justin Korn
The bond market will be the key indicator and driver over the next few days of trading - Dave Martin
There won't ever be another one day drop as large as the one in 1987. Market now halts trading at a 10% drop. That rule was put in place to stop another drop like that. - Chris Johnston
Evolution baby. The ones that survive were meant to. The ones that don't, let them go. Burn baby burn. Fighting the natural course ends in chaos and more destruction. - Stephan Miller
Paulson's talking now at a press conference. - Thomas Hawk
He sounds angry, almost panicked. Sounds like he's shouting his written speech. - Thomas Hawk
"We need to put something back together that works." "We need a plan that works as soon as possible." "We had a plan that we worked very hard on that did the job to protect the American people." "Our banking system has been holding up very well considering all of the pressures." Paulson. Press conference over after just a few questions. - Thomas Hawk
He looks scared actually. "Our toolkit is substantial, but insufficient" - Eric @ CSTechcast.com
I wish I had some money to buy stocks. - s t e v e
I wish I had shorted the stuff I told folks to short at the New Years party at the beginning of this year :( - Aaron the Librarian
No bail out, must wait till new Prez is sworn in. Stop looting treasury - imran
Paulson needs to go. He's got way too many ties with people that do not have the average joe's best interests at heart. He will always be a wall street boy. I do not share any of his views and feel this bailbout move was more about protecting his people not ours. - Carlos Ayala
Hmnmm … I have a bunch of money and no stocks. Must look into this "investing" thing. - Ryan Brenizer
Maybe I should go to one of these bankrupt financial institutions to ask for a loan, so I have more cash to buy stocks. - Louis Gray
The financial crisis will end when housing prices stop falling. - Bob Gannon
Fuck them and their "we worked hard over the weekend" bullshit. I keep hearing all these echoes of working hard and having the country's best interests at heart. Our elected politicians better be working their asses raw 24/7 to come up with some solution that doesn't look like a GIANT I-give-up-$700-billion-mythical-pulled-from-thin-air-bullet-to-the-head. We're all about to witness just how deep this rabbit hole goes. - scot copeland

Hmmmm. What do you make of this? - Steve Rubel from Bookmarklet
Too much politics not enough filtering. - Robert Scoble
Whoa! Dip in August / Sept traffic? not sure why...interesting. Maybe politics! - Susan Beebe
Agreed. I find myself baited by the politics every now and then, but overall I think it makes FriendFeed suck a little bit. - David Risley
clearly that is tied to Edythe not being on as much -or- maybe politics - RAPatton
That's a pretty sharp decline in Sept. Could it be the new design? - Steve Rubel
beta redesign :P - ·[▪_▪]·
I would have to be in the strange position of agreeing with Robert Scoble. Politics is bullshit. ...and it isn't fun - Noah David Simon
70%+ started using http://beta.friendfeed.com at that time. Different domain, different metric - AJ Batac
Politics, college classes starting, redesign...? - Corie
@AJ Google Trends covers the TLD and all sub-domains so the beta traffic is counted here. Someone correct me if this is wrong. - Steve Rubel
still very low if compared with twitter http://trends.google.com/website... - Vincenzo Cosenza
Well, Google trends calculates searches and resulting clicks right? I don't know about you but I've never *once* searched for FF... Alexa, for all that's worth, actually shows an increase in traffic coming in starting the first week or so in September - FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
It'll be interesting to see what Quantcast thinks when it updates. It shows a higher August acceleration. http://www.quantcast.com/friendf... - AJ Kohn
http://siteanalytics.compete.com/friendf... Quantcast, Compete and GTrends reports are all different. @Steve, you're right. - AJ Batac
But Google Trends has Friendfeed with 40 K daily visitors while Compete has them with 500 K. Steve, were you looking at US only? - Julio F ~ @SocialJulio
what happened in November and December 2007. seems like people tried it and then gave up... perhaps this a exponential cycle. a series of users come and then leave... but each wave gets bigger. - Noah David Simon
I think AJ Batac nailed it - primary users jumped over to the BETA domain, which affected the live production site traffic stats. Of course, I said politics earlier and that too has it's own ripple affect - Susan Beebe
It's possible that the September drop had to do with Ed Dale's 30 Day Challenge; about 13,000, I think it is, joined FF at the beginning of August, and who knows how many dropped it in early September . . . - LJF Wolffe

The more the conversation around my content is decentralized, the less I'm able to participate in it. That's not my fault.
Your statement about decentralization is true, but what if your comments increase 1000% across 2-4 services? - Mike Reynolds
how do you adapt to it, Eric. Follow the people or push them to follow you in the spaces you frequent? (via Alert Thingy) - Jason Toney
Welcome to the big media dilemma. I'd imagine as a person (corps not so much) can participate in only the big conversation spaces. You know what it's like? The overflow room at a conference. That's exactly it. Heh - Eric Rice
Eric, why are you having this "conversation" on twitter and not on your blog? (via Alert Thingy) - Jason Wehmhoener
This is like a forum. I rarely talk about Chevy Colorado things on my blog, but at coloradofans. I also am trying to get this crap out of my system, because 1/2 my readers don't give a shit about social this or social that. They are like 'word, myspace' and that's it. - Eric Rice
Isn't this kind of the point of friendfeed? Bring it all to one spot and then select what you're interested in from there? - Ňicķ
who is FF for? the publisher or the reader? or both? - Eric Rice
agree with your concerns, mr. rice. But think about it this way. Conversations happens around brands, content, etc in all sorts of decentralized ways already. that's the history of communications and media. right now, there are thousands of conversations going on about Chevy or an NYT column or Tiger Woods. They're happening at church potlucks and barbershops and on cell phones and... more... - @baratunde
uno mas. i would like SELECTIVE conversation integration a la friendfeed. but i want to chose where it shows up. i would like to place it back on my blog. kind of like a trackback on steroids. at least for certain services. this is for me as producer and for other convo observers and participants (via Alert Thingy) - @baratunde
friendfeed comments on your blog: http://blog.slaven.net.au/wordpre... (via Alert Thingy) - Jason Wehmhoener
Friend Feed is for the reader, I think. For in my estimation, infomation gathering (and parsing) is the prime goal, and commenting is more like a hobby. Then again i'm a link blogger and not a diarist or tech blogger, or some other sort of net culture provider. I don't really monitor my own friend feed and anything I find really interesting goes in the blog anyway. - Ňicķ
If anything all this should merely be a passing phase as we all work out the good and bad of web 2.0. I don't think we expect to have all these seperate services in the future, but as we test and assail them, they'll be narrowed down to the more necessary ones and slowly organise themselves. RSS seems to have emerged as the glue that keeps it all together, and friendfreed is an expression of that. - Ňicķ
That link Jason posted above to bring your friendfeed back into your blog is briliant. If friendfeed had two way commenting for all of your media outlets it would make the conversations that much bigger. For what its worth, I find friendfeed to be the most enjoyable way to follow you. (via Alert Thingy) - Chris Carella
