Here's a protein I made earlier...
The Chimera colours seem a little different but it definitely has more detail - very nice. - Andrew Lang
Ah, sorry, there was no particular intent in the selection of images and the color schemes serve different purposes. You can't, of course, cam or walk round the static image, nor touch it, so they are complementary. - Peter Miller
One thing you can see from the Chimera image is a 'gap' near the bottom of the protein. My service won't find those sort of things because sculpties act radially. - Andrew Lang
Yes, there's a channel near the top too. Camming in shows that the sculpty hints at it. Ultimately it would be cool to use the sculpty as a touch-sensitive surface and pop up images dynamically though I've no idea whether llDetectedTouchPos works with sculpts. That presupposes a service at the other end and automated import of textures (dunno whether it's already in OpenSims but I've seen it mooted for SL). The anti-griefing delays will be a bit of a pain, I guess. - Peter Miller
On a related theme, just noticed this nice ClickAndDrag script that might be handy for zooming into images etc. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki... - Peter Miller
Or maybe we just wait for meshes... - Peter Miller
