"Yes, it's great to see them going into the next generation. It's especially cool for them to be singing this song as a family, as it would have been done in Stephen Foster's day."

"I don't think that social media is a great place to sell products. It's much better for informing your potential customers, building trust and a creating a favorable impression of your brand. I don't know what part of Facebook's terms and conditions your friend ran afoul of but it doesn't sound like he was shut down without warning. I often think of social media as a giant cocktail party, where people move from conversation to conversation, picking up on interesting chatter and sometimes making connections. If someone at the party was constantly trying to push a product on me, I think I'd want them to leave too."

"When we still had Comcast (we have since canceled), a technician explained to me that they use an "over the air" system in Tuolumne County. This means that all of the local channels are brought into the system using large antennas overlooking the valley (on Mt. Elizabeth?) and only after that, is the signal distributed through the cable system to individual subscribers. He acknowledged that lots of different atmospheric conditions would mess with the signal. This was before the changeover to digital broadcasting, so perhaps they now use a different system. At the time, I was amazed to find out that I was paying a monthly fee to receive TV signals though what is essentially a giant pair of rabbit ears."

"I do find it easier to do creative work in the morning. To do so later in the day, I find it helps to take a short break between tasks and make a fresh start. Even with that, I'm only good for one or two sustained creative tasks in a day. Full disclosure: Kristi (Mrs. Robinson to her students) is my son's 5th grade teacher. She knows whereof she speaks."

"Looks very informative, Brett. I'll definitely take some time to go through it and try to gain an understanding of these different technologies. The nice thing about implementing rssCloud on WordPress is that it's dead simple. Install and activate a plugin and you're done. Of course it's early days still and things could change a lot as people come to an understanding of where real-time is going."

"Yes, I believe that at the moment LazyFeed and River2 are the only two feed readers that can receive rssCloud notifications. I expect that there will be more soon and hopefully Google Reader will be among them. In any case, I'm glad you found us. Note to readers: Marshall is a regular participant on Dave Winer's other podcast, Bad Hair Day, which can be found at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Bad-Hai...."

"Congratulations on the warm and informative interview and on having a legendary musician performing locally. We have a Blues and Brews festival here in Sonora, CA and the headliners are usually good (Johnny Winter this year) but nothing compared to Joe Cocker. Wish I could be there with you all tonight."

"Thanks, BZ. Getting the tone right will probably be an ongoing process, especially considering the range of topics that I hope to cover. Hope to see you here often."

"Teri, are you saying that it may be illegal to collect water from the sky because someone else may own the rights to it once it's in the ground? That would be like saying that I can't use my own generator because PG owns the right to sell me electricity through the grid. I'll be interested to know what you find out."
