"About the Windows Version Scrivener for the Mac was released in January 2007 (after public betas that lasted for nearly two years) and until now Scrivener has been Mac-only. That's all about to change. We are really excited to be able to announce that the Windows version of Scrivener is coming. It will be officially released in early 2011, but if you're conscientious about backing up and are happy to test software that's still in development, you can download the beta version from further down this page. When Scrivener for Windows goes on sale early next year it will cost $40 for the regular licence and $35 for the education licence. Scrivener for Windows will run on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Anyone who participates in NaNoWriMo this year and achieves their 50,000 words (and has them validated) will get a 50% discount coupon which they will be able to use when Scrivener for Windows is released next year."

"Humans can't walk in straight lines. If there's no fixed point of reference, we just walk in circles and inevitably get lost. Nobody knows why, but researchers at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics have confirmed it in several experiments."
