Spencer is sick this week, so a little easier to keep up with. But aside from that, he's a pretty mobile boy too, and him learning to climb stairs has only increased our headaches. Good luck keeping Hazel out of danger.

Poor Spencer! I hope he gets better soon! I was making cookies when Hazel discovered that she could open the kitchen drawers. Luckily it was just the bib drawer that she had access to...

When did they come in? You mentioned something about teething approximately three months ago, but I thought it might have been a false alarm.

The first tooth poked through about 3 weeks ago, but we didn't get a photo until now.

The tooth arrived on the 9th and then she finally slept thru the night on the 10th...

I know all about how difficult it is to get a good tooth picture. Glad to hear they are in now. What is Hazel eating these days? Spencer really likes creamy red lentil chowder - http://blog.robfelty.com/2009...

Home. Was awoken by a phone call from a good friend in Brooklyn who called me and told me to turn on the television.

Well, by this time of the day I was listening to one of my neighbors hurl every curse word imaginable as Marine 1 flew over our apartment building on its way to the White House.

Asleep. Didn't know about anything until I was eating breakfast and my friend in DC called to let me know he was OK. I was like, "Uh, why are you telling me this?"

Getting ready to go to work, and slowly hearing about co-workers in eastern North America who were trying to get home to California. Not too long after that I went to a law enforcement confernce in Toronto where John Ashcroft was the guest speaker. I admit to being a little nervous on that trip.

Working out of an office in Nassau, Bahamas on a road project. Pretty much nothing got done all day while we tried to watch as much of the news as we could get hold of.

At home, woke up early to catch the markets opening and was greeted by "America under Attack" Yahoo home page. Spent the rest of the day glued to the internet.

Getting ready for a Web seminar at 8a PDT. Saw the events and drove into the office anyway, only to have the phone lines taken by the govt. We rescheduled.

I came into work, was told what was going on, and I said, "you're kidding." I really thought they were trying to put one over on me.

I had just landed in San Diego airport having flown from Washington Dulles (En Route from Vienna). My brother-in-law called and when I picked up, his first words were "thank God"

The funny thing is that after I filmed this, I put the camera down and put her on her stomach only to have her immediately roll over to her back. I put her back on her stomach and she did it again. It was like she was waiting for me to put the camera away.
- Maggie
I think the cutest thing is when she lifts her legs up like a froggy. :)
- Alex
It's funny that Hazel likes roll over to her back. Spencer does the opposite. We put him down on his back, and he immediately rolls over to his stomach.
- Robert Felty
Rob, Hazel wasn't really fond of tummy-time. And it's only recently that she tolerates more than a few minutes of it at a time. Now, she will spend about 20+ minutes before she gets tired/bored and needs a break.

Maggie - 20 minutes seems great to me. Spencer rarely likes to do any one thing for more than about 20 minutes. The other day he played in his exersaucer for over an hour while I cooked dinner though. I was kind of against them at first, but I am definitely in favor of the exersaucer now. It seems like your baby mobile unit does much the same thing though.
- Robert Felty
That 20 minutes is with me laying on the floor next to her.

You know you're a grownup when you look forward to eating the crust instead of removing it.
