Man Builds Noah's Ark (exact scale given in Bible)
Man Builds Noah's Ark (exact scale given in Bible)

The ark is 150 cubits long, 30 cubits high and 20 cubits wide. That's two-thirds the length of a football field and as high as a three-story house. Life-size models of giraffes, elephants, lions, crocodiles, zebras, bison and other animals greet visitors as they arrive in the main hold. A contractor by trade, Huibers built the ark of cedar and pine. Biblical Scholars debate exactly what the wood used by Noah would have been. - Shey via Bookmarklet
wow! Impressive!! - Susan Beebe
i love how Biblical Scholars debate the wood that Noah would have used, instead of debating how two of every animal on earth would have fit inside. - Trent Olson
It's all Evan Almighty. - Anika Malone
Very impressive endeavor. - John-David Lusan
Trent, don't forgot the small matter of all the food for the animals too. Although I suppose the thing is that when a big floaty magical being is in charge some shit just "happens"... - Grant Fitzgerald
re: animals fitting in the ark: http://www.christiananswers.ne... of course biblical scholars have asked these questions and more. you "enlightened" ones are embarrassing me a little with your prejudices. - jon madison
wait till it hits an iceberg; then it becomes the titanic :} But seriously, awesome job Johan. The faith is strong with you. - vijay
This is very cool. Whether you are religious or not. It's pretty freaking impressive. - Lon Cohen via twhirl
Totally agree - this is awesome. - Tad, Fool
I love this quote from the Christian Answers link from Jon: "It is evident, when all the facts are examined that there is no scientific evidence that the biblical account of Noah's ark is a myth or fable." Of course, it's also evident that there is no scientific evidence that the Flying Spaghetti Monster is a myth or fable. So, both must be true! - Tad, Fool
jon, where did anyone display any prejudices? besides grant's snarky comment, i have no idea why you would accuse everyone here of prejudices. - Anika Malone
This guy is rubbish, I wonder if he can build it when he's a spritely 600 years old - Toby Graham
jon, my point was really more about the merits of debating what kind of wood was used...why does that really matter? i would rather that Biblical Scholars spent their time debating more weighty topics. - Trent Olson
I wasn't really trying to be snarky. Just making the point that there is little value in trying to prove or disprove these kinds of things because at some point those who believe in God can say "He is all-powerful and he just made it happen". You either believe or you don't. Personally, I don't. - Grant Fitzgerald
To enter you need to bring two tens. - todd

quick response :) a few times ago he was on the iab conferences to talk about internet advertising in recession - webosapien (Burcu Tüzün)
Paul, the bleeding thing predates Yahoo. At Apple, people would always say they bled 6 colors because of the logo. On one occasion, an executive got up in front of a group and told us he bled 5 colors. We always wondered if the missing color was red. - Chris White
Yeah @ Home Depot everyone was "bleeding orange" or had "orange blood". - Erica Baker

That's interesting. I guess scaling down is good. I sometimes get overwhelmed with all the applications available to use. How nice would be to have one or two applications that could do pretty much everything. - John-David Lusan

@Robert Google, TypePad or the apps Edelman provides. - Steve Rubel via IM
then you are following google chrome closely, right? crashes should be much rarer there. but PP, really? There are other solutions aside from Google, know? I thought your pres style would make Keynote the choice. - Sebastian Keil

In the France that emerged from World War I, George Barbier, then in his 30s, was one of the best-known artist-designers, especially famous as a creator of the brilliantly colored fashion plates that had been launched by the couturier Paul Poiret a decade earlier, and of jewelry for Cartier. He also made his mark as a writer and reviewer for magazines, a designer for theater and film, and a book illustrator. (Les chansons de Bilitis di Pierre Louÿs, 1922) - Cee Bee

Brand New: In Brief: Obama's Website in the Mirror

The image above requires very little explanation except to say that Obama's brand is fast becoming a template for success. Benjamin Netenyahu's campaign website, is inspired by Barack Obama's. Borrowed elements include layout, typography, color, gradients, buttons, photography, silhouettes and more below the fold. Alebrijes are carved wooden figures created by Oaxacan artisans. They have become so popular that even the world’s most respected Spanish language authority, the La Real Academia de la Lengua Española, Spanish Royal Academy, has included the term “Alebrijes” in its official Spanish language dictionary. The term “Alebrijes” originated from the name that Mr. Pedro Linares, of Mexico City, gave to his fantastic creations of paper maché; which are internationally recognized. Most Oaxacan artisans simply call them figuras "wooden figures", naming them after the animal which they carved, such as the deer, raccoon, leopard, etc., but when a fantastic figure is elaborated, the artisan is compelled to say he has created an "alebrije." - Cee Bee via Bookmarklet
