The ark is 150 cubits long, 30 cubits high and 20 cubits wide. That's two-thirds the length of a football field and as high as a three-story house. Life-size models of giraffes, elephants, lions, crocodiles, zebras, bison and other animals greet visitors as they arrive in the main hold. A contractor by trade, Huibers built the ark of cedar and pine. Biblical Scholars debate exactly what the wood used by Noah would have been. - Shey

wow! Impressive!! - Susan Beebe
i love how Biblical Scholars debate the wood that Noah would have used, instead of debating how two of every animal on earth would have fit inside. - Trent Olson
It's all Evan Almighty. - Anika Malone
Very impressive endeavor. - John-David Lusan
Trent, don't forgot the small matter of all the food for the animals too. Although I suppose the thing is that when a big floaty magical being is in charge some shit just "happens"... - Grant Fitzgerald
re: animals fitting in the ark: http://www.christiananswers.ne... of course biblical scholars have asked these questions and more. you "enlightened" ones are embarrassing me a little with your prejudices. - jon madison
wait till it hits an iceberg; then it becomes the titanic :} But seriously, awesome job Johan. The faith is strong with you. - vijay
This is very cool. Whether you are religious or not. It's pretty freaking impressive. - Lon Cohen

Totally agree - this is awesome. - Tad, Fool
I love this quote from the Christian Answers link from Jon: "It is evident, when all the facts are examined that there is no scientific evidence that the biblical account of Noah's ark is a myth or fable." Of course, it's also evident that there is no scientific evidence that the Flying Spaghetti Monster is a myth or fable. So, both must be true! - Tad, Fool
jon, where did anyone display any prejudices? besides grant's snarky comment, i have no idea why you would accuse everyone here of prejudices. - Anika Malone
This guy is rubbish, I wonder if he can build it when he's a spritely 600 years old - Toby Graham
jon, my point was really more about the merits of debating what kind of wood was used...why does that really matter? i would rather that Biblical Scholars spent their time debating more weighty topics. - Trent Olson
I wasn't really trying to be snarky. Just making the point that there is little value in trying to prove or disprove these kinds of things because at some point those who believe in God can say "He is all-powerful and he just made it happen". You either believe or you don't. Personally, I don't. - Grant Fitzgerald
