I did, once. 1981. Took me like 3 weeks. Haven't tried it since :)

Never could do it. My Grandad Dave did it a couple of times, then he got the "how to solve the cube" book and was able to impress us with his speed at solving it. However, we also got a cheapo version that had symbols from playing cards on them. Completing that cube with the book formulae tended to leave many of the symbols pointing the wrong way. I don't think we ever solved that one.

I beat it with the sticker peeling method. :D I am not as awesome as LB.
- Lix
I learnt to solve it pretty mechanically by memorising a set of moves to go from one situation to another. It's definitely not the fastest way to solve the cube. But it does solve it each time :)
- Hasitha
Hasitha, that's how I learned to do it. I'm tempted to pick up a book and learning to do it again.
- ha3rvey (Hugs 50% off!)
My first "solution" was the sticker peeling. The second was the screwdriver method — pry it apart and reassemble. That was far more enjoyable because I got to learn the mechanics of what made the cube work. I've never solved it the proper way. :(
- Amit Patel
I've solved it legitimately, but it took me a lot longer than those people on That's Incredible.
- Adam
I keep several around. I can solve one legitimately. I figured it out after just sitting down and focusing only on solving it, a few years ago. It ends up resulting in 3-4 sets of movements. I can never remember what the final steps are so often I get stuck and have to mess it up again, in hopes of changing the corner positions, and re-solve.

The first sip of coffee I promptly spat out when I was 5 years old. I didn't understand how my Mom could drink such a foul beverage. I took up coffee drinking as a teenager as part of an end scene in all-night mosh/raves/parties. My cups were filled with more sugar and cream than coffee, I think. As I got older, I used less cream and sugar....
and drank more coffee. After I started drinking more specialty coffee, it became increasingly more difficult to drink shite coffee. When I was an undergrad, I worked as a barista and that changed everything about how I viewed coffee. It became less of a beverage and more of an important part of my life. Hence my typical user name, taoofcoffee. I appreciate a good cup of coffee or espresso like some can appreciate a fine wine or cigar.

There was a time in my life when I was given medical advice to stop drinking coffee and I just couldn't give it up. I can't imagine not having that magical brew as part of my daily life. :) #SaturdayFF

I was hooked on the stuff by a very cute friend whom I fell in love with. She since quit. I still both live on it and resent it. I razz her about it every time I see her.
- Jason P
@jason: I also started drinking coffee because of my girlfriend. She had since stopped drinking as well, and I still continue to this day...
- Hasitha
Love seems like a beautiful introduction to coffee. :)

Spidra, I'm not sure they wasted it, think of what Facebook was like two years ago.
- Kenton
I joined just before it happened. I was blown away (still am) but how close being on friendfeed brings you to the happenings in Silicon Valley and such.
- Brent
I just find that the number of comments per a given post (with an exception of rare ones like this one) has drastically dropped though :(
- Hasitha
Remember the day very well. Wow, 2 years though. Still here and kicking. :-)

Weird... how is that I don't see any Twitter posts of mine making their way into FF? Also, when I tried to see how many of my Twitter friends are on here using the "Browse/edit friends", it gave me an error. Any ideas?
I just came back a few days ago to see how my account is doing. Almost everyone had left, and my stream was full of non-English posts. It was weird. So I did some spring cleaning on my Followers list, and added a bunch of new people I found interesting. :)
- Hasitha
Just added a whole bunch of interesting people last night.... and now things look a LOT better. I guess the people who I was following a few months back decided to leave.
- Hasitha
Man, that article is full of inaccuracies. IPv4=4-digit IP's? And while they aren't backward (or forward) compatible, the capability is there to run on over the other.
- Kenton
@Kenton: Yeah.. I choked on my coffee when I got to that part

It's great how they do these ads on TV as well. You see all these "WTF viral video campaigns" on youtube, but typically not on traditional media.

I have Google Wave now. It's awesome and I love it. But then again, I'm a Google fanboy. Anyone want to share their Google Wave usernames so we can add each other to our contact lists?
can't agree more with pirillo, but gina had a glimpse
- adam garrett
To all asking about invites: I have none. There is currently no way to do that. Also, viki saigal: I have it and can post a screenshot if you'd like. It's the Developer Preview.
- Eric Geller
I doubt I will have enough invites to get you all in, at least not in the first round. But I'll invite people in the order you post here.
- Eric Geller
If you can, right here Eric. Thanks!
- Andrew Leahey
Guys, Wave users don't have the ability to send out invites. Only Google can invite people, at the moment. This is a developer beta, not a user beta ....
- Ahsan Ali
Sorry for the late response, but I've added the two of you who posted your Wave IDs here. Hopefully more of you will get your invites soon!
- Eric Geller
invite me please.... rail.shiyapov @ gmail dot com , thx

Postbox is a great email client, but it will be going paid soon. I think I'll go back to Windows Live Mail, because it was a great product and still is. But I'd like to get suggestions for other desktop mail clients I could try. And yes, I already know about Thunderbird. Please sound off on your favorite email clients.
Believe it or not I use MS Outlook - I connect to an exchange server so its the easiest but I use the Outlook Web Access client more than the desktop Outlook:)
- Rob Cairns
I personally use Thunderbird... and love it
- Hasitha
I heard that Inbox2 is all that. I'm still waiting for my invite. Postbox is cool. I have been a Eudora/Thunderbird guy for years. This week I started just emailing from the Gmail page...and I think I can get used to that.
- Bryan R. Adams
Hi Bryan, we have been sending out invites steadily for the last two weeks. So yours should also be running in soon :-) Cheers, waseem at inbox2 dot com
