Sadly, this is dormant knowledge already in my brain... information I learned while working in an archive for GM long ago. It might help me win a trivia contest some year though... who knows. - Heidi Blanton

It's 3F in Chicago... that's more than a little too cold for me... realizing how much I've been spoiled by the weather here.
Whoa, that's right on the edge of long-pants weather in Denver... - awd

Inside The Mind of Google - CNBC - http://www.cnbc.com/id...
"Google keeps its users’ search terms" <- Sure, this sounds creepy until you realize just how useful this is. I was doing research a few days ago on several topics, I couldn't find one file I remember finding the day before using search terms I thought I used previously (but apparently didn't)... so I searched my search history. I found it easy, and starred it so I wouldn't lose it again. If you do a lot of research, it's worth keeping it turned on. - Heidi Blanton

A man updates Twitter while standing at the altar in his own wedding... seems tacky, but I must say it was well executed (look at the video). He even had her phone ready so she can update hers. - Heidi Blanton

Not sure about either side here, but I still like FriendFeed, it's too bad it's caught up in all of this. I use Twitter, FriendFeed, and Facebook all separately, for different reasons. - Heidi Blanton

See Twitter Trends Around Your Neighborhood with GeoMeme - http://www.readwriteweb.com/archive...
Good idea, but interface is overwhelming me... tag clouds too much, both sides of the screen scrolling with tweets, not sure where to look. Just want to click away fast. - Heidi Blanton

Google Wave’s Clever Way Of Saving Scrollbar Space - http://www.usabilitypost.com/2009...
I can't stand that stupid scroll bar... I can't use my scroll wheel with it. It also move things too far up and down when I try to drag it. - Heidi Blanton

Name game: A librarian should run the library - http://www.lisnews.org/name_ga...
Interesting, but I don't agree... maybe the head of a library should have an MBA. I don't feel my one Management class in Library School was enough to prepare me for running an entire library system. I think that there are plenty of librarians who do have a knack for management, but there are an equal number of them who don't, and they are running libraries simply because they have an LIS. - Heidi Blanton

Gowalla Ups Its Game And Hints At Future Business Models - http://www.techcrunch.com/2009...
I find the game aspect of Gowalla definitely more fun. The iPhone interface is better than Foursquare too. I do wish there was a way of editing locations already added though, my GPS readings seem to be way off when checking in, and I have a feeling it could be off when creating spots with my own phone too. Having another method of editing an address of a location might help this. - Heidi Blanton
