"What happened to all that virtual reality implementation that was forecast a few years back? I remember attending a panel discussion in DC where someone in law enforcement warned that one the biggest threats we were facing as a nation was the advent of "full-body suits" and other devices attached to the 'net, for the "sharing of erotic experiences"!"

"Agree on the communication prob. And I just thought of any reason.... no API on hosted blogs. All the other services they connect with have one, or they have been given direct access in some way. To make it work with all the hosted blogs out there it would need a plug-in and an authentication mechanism etc. etc."

"One word: SPLOGS!!! Klout can work with hosted services to filter out spam and mass attempts to game the system for fun and profit. Not so easy with self-hosted blogs with link-farm like activity."

"Taking a quick look I've found references to a defunct domain "twitterstars.com" going back to 2008 and "shiftplusone.com" Both can be viewed on archive.org. Check out http://web.archive.org/web/200..."

"I'm seeing someone who cared most about exacting revenge for his friend's dismissal and making sure the company knew exactly who did it and why. Using his home connection to gain access, no VPN, no proxy and his own login. Seems like he almost *wanted* to get caught. But only after he screwed the company royally and made them suffer for dissing him and his friend. Overall this is a "Revenge of the Nerds" story, not Lulzsec :-)"

"It 's plausible that the browser in question was IE 9, which is being pushed out by Windows Update. Some websites have hard-coded browser identification routines that balk at IE 8 and now IE 9. I've seen some banking sites with this problem. The solution is to use the compatibility mode in the browser. Or use another browser, such as Mosaic, Lynx or AOL 2.0."
