"Great post !!! Being an Embedded professional, there was a misconception whether my blog and other social media tools could be used or not.However, it landed me in the first startup as a co-founder and after parting ways, my next job in a bigger startup came through LinkedIn. Beyond a certain level, there is not much juice left in the job sites since they SPAM you with unwanted jobs and you don't have the permission to stop them in desperate times.However, Social Media gives us a chance to do permission marketing(in Seth Godin's term) where we show ourself in the way we want to and to the people whom we should show to (indirectly, permission to choose the employers).After the arrival of Twitter, even that has become a great tool to market yourself like my profile http://twitter.com/hjsblogger , after just putting a T-Shirt with ENTREPRENEUR as my home page, I could see loads of people following me, which was not the case before. The bottom line is "Choose the right Social Media tool..." - Himanshu Sheth

"Hey, All is agreed and point is about a startup "I liked Pownce because it has a desktop application" which is not present in Twitter.But can Pownce or for that matter any startup just ride on one additional feature(or should I say,a pain point) which is not present in it's predecessor.
