Aw. Well, if your trip brings you to middle GA, I'd be happy to do the driving - Soup in a TARDIS

finally getting around to looking around frenf. it
you have to add people to a frenfbook to get a stream similar to FF going - is that right? - holly #ravingfangirl
If you subscribe to them, they should automatically start to show up in your Home feed (the main feed) just like here. You can, if you go into the books themselves, edit what streams of theirs show up. - Jennifer Dittrich
I've got two books right now - the main feed (where I've turned off Tumblr feeds for now) and then a Tumblr Feeds book with, well, the Tumblr feeds. - Jennifer Dittrich
hrm. something is amiss. i am not seeing anything in my main/home feed. i thought when i looked in the other day i was seeing peoples' posts. - holly #ravingfangirl
I think Trish had the same problem the other day, and then poof!, stuff started rolling in again. - Jennifer Dittrich
ah. i'll just keep poking at it then. :) - holly #ravingfangirl
If you go to http://www.frenf.it/earlyad... and click on "Home" it should show you what users should be showing up in the main feed (and which services are checked to show up) just in case they're not selected? - Jennifer Dittrich
I forgot I signed up hah - Rodfather
It actually has me using my tumblr account because it was the easiest way to feed instagram posts in. - Katy S
yep, people are selected but the main page is just the welcome info. i'll just try again later. - holly #ravingfangirl
It did that to me until I posted something. Then my feed appeared. Try posting. - Trish R from iPhone
aha! i'll give that a whirl! - holly #ravingfangirl

How do you listen to music these days? On my phone I stream from google play or Apple's radio service. I hit Youtube when on my computer. I could probably delete my mp3 collection and not even miss it. The last CD I bought for myself was Depeche Mode's Delta machine 2 years ago.
My music listening is split between Pandora One and YouTube. I'm not sure the last time I even looked at what was in my music collection but it's stored away on Google Play for now. Oh, and Spotify occasionally. - That's So CAJ!
Mostly via Amazon Prime. I use Google Play and YouTube playlists, too. - Anika
Spotify at work, iPod classic in the car (I will be devastated when my 160G iPod dies and cannot be replaced!) - RudĩϐЯaЯïan
Mostly via Xbox Music through my various devices. When in the car, I listen to my Zune, but it's populated with music from my Xbox Music subscription. - COMPLICATED MR. NOODLE
I have my mp3 collection on my iPhone but I almost never access it. - Gunneh-MoTo Calls me that
mostly pandora and google music. sometimes youtube. My wife uses spotify and amazon. - Kevin Johnson
Pandora, mostly. I also started using Last.fm again. I like Pandora better, mostly. - Bren from iPhone
I'm still old school with the MP3/AAC on my phone mostly from iTunes. At work I was using Spotify but switched over to YouTube when Spotify stopped working for awhile. I almost never listen to music at home. - rønin from FFHound!
I know the streaming music model screws over artists, but I love the all you can eat aspect I get for less than 10 bucks a month - Gunneh-MoTo Calls me that
I use amazon prime while at work and through my phone, sometimes. I have an ipod that gets some use. I even occasionally buy cds if amazon offers autorip for them since they don't count against my space quota. - Katy S
iPod when out, Spotify at work, iTunes and Spotify at home. - Andrew C (✔)
I fill up my microSD card with mp3s and podcasts and listen to that all day. Slacker at home. - Steven Perez
iphone, spotify at work (or google play if i am itching for something i own that isn't on spotify) and at home a mix of spotify and itunes, for the same reason. - holly #ravingfangirl
Spotify. It's basically the only streaming service in Norway. - Jenny H. from Android
DB, Lil LB's Dad
I don't understand how folks can eat crunchy peanut butter. Kesha bought crunchy Peter Pan by mistake recently. I'm eating it because I don't want it to go to waste but I'm not a crunchy fan at all. It's supposed to be peanut BUTTER. Smooth creamy. Yummy. Crunchy? Bleh. The nuts get caught in my teeth. Ruins the PBJ enjoyment.
I love PBJ if you can't tell. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
I'm the opposite. I have strong words for creamy peanut butter. It should be crunchy & the nuts perfectly roasted. - Anika
I like both, but I like creamy a little more. - John (bird whisperer)
i love all peanut butter equally. - holly #ravingfangirl
I prefer creamy, but like both pretty well. - Jennifer Dittrich
Creamy. Very occasionally will I accept crunchy PB (it works well in fudge, for example) but not often enough to actually pay money for it. - ellbeecee
"I don't turn down nothin' but my collar" - KB #kbism #cosign - MoTO Boychick Devil
I can't stand crunchy peanut butter. - vicster.
Use the crunchy to make PB cookies. They can take a bit of crunch. Then it isn't wasted. - m9m, Crone of FriendFeed
I like them equally on bread, but for making peanut sauce for noodles, crunchy is definitely the way to go. - Andrew C (✔)
Andrew that's funny. I will only eat crunchy. Unless I'm making peanut sauce, then I get smooth! - RudĩϐЯaЯïan
I don't eat it at all, but my wife does--crunchy, that is. - walt crawford
I usually eat the Costco natural peanut butter. I'm not sure if there's a crunchy version of that. - Rodfather
Oddly enough as much as I love peanut butter I can't stand peanut butter cookies. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
Crunchy. - Kristin
Adams no-stir, all natural. Creamy. Always creamy. - Bren from iPhone
Crunchy for me. Creamy is too sticky for my tastes. - COMPLICATED MR. NOODLE
I can eat crunchy, but my favorite is natural peanut butter that is smooth with a bit of grit to it. - Jenny H. from Android
Crunchy peanut butter is uncalled for. It makes me angry. The only time I find it acceptable is if I'm baking peanut butter cookies. - Hookuh Tinypants
crunchy peanut butter is a job half done, :( - chaz2b
I will eat crunchy PB if that is what's available and the alternative is dry toast. Otherwise, creamy PB all the way. - Corinne L
Can we just agree that no matter if you like creamy or crunchy PB, it's always better when it gets all melty on toast?! - Kristin
Bagel. You meant bagel, right? - Bren from iPhone
Oh snap! I do believe this is the first time I've ever seen the Crunchy vs. Creamy debate on ff. How is that so? lol. I'll accept both, but when it's game time, I'm definitely playing for the PB Cream Dream Team. - AHnix (Anna Haro)
Bren - MELTY PEANUT BUTTER ON ANY CARBY DELICIOUSNESS (#teambagel) Anna - Tsk tsk tsk. - Kristin
crunchy peanut butter 43V4H! - Big Joe Silenced
^because it gets stuck in your teeth. 43V4H. - Bren from iPhone
crunchy = FLAVOUR! and it only gets stuck in your teeth if your teeth are full of holes. :P - Big Joe Silenced
crunchy isn't a flavor crunchy is a texture and 99% of the time texture in food is a bad thing you know like gristle and avocado (*ducks on that one*) - Steve C, Team Marina
I think I'm with Bee Dub and KB. Either is fine with me. Mr. B likes creamy, though. - LB needs a break. from Android
We had this debate a couple of years ago. I came across it in my feed yesterday. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
Ahh, I just saw it. Also, *fist bump* on PB love that has no room for PB cookies. Those might be the only cookies I can ALWAYS resist. #noproblem - AHnix (Anna Haro)
Tonight I stood in front of the pb section of Safeway & thought of y'all. I'll miss these conversations. - Corinne L
holly #ravingfangirl
i'll post here too! i think i might be buying a wordpress theme for the animal rescue site redesign i was going to do 2 years ago. i've never purchased a big fancy one before. is there anything i should look out for?
help meeeeee someone - holly #ravingfangirl
So many things, it's tough to really put it all into words. There are a lot of fantastic themes, but even more horrible ones. If you can tell, make sure you avoid any themes that rely on TimThumb for any functionality. I'd highly recommend checking out the StudioPress themes as a starting point; they're extremely well-respected and they do a great job of maintaining their stuff. - COMPLICATED MR. NOODLE
If there's a specific theme you're looking at, I'd be happy to do what research I can; since they're premium, it's tough for me to review the code (unless it happens to be one I already have access to), but I might at least be able to look for peer reviews and info. - COMPLICATED MR. NOODLE
thanks! It's this one designed for animal rescues: http://themeforest.net/item... it has all the features i am looking for, but i've never dealt with a theme that has integrated individual plugins - just basic design themes. I don't even know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. it's a pretty new design for the company, just released in Feb, from what i can tell. - holly #ravingfangirl
I don't know anything specifically about this theme, but I do have a few concerns: - COMPLICATED MR. NOODLE
1) It comes packaged with Revolution Slider, which had a major security vulnerability a few months ago; since this theme appears to have been created after that vulnerability was fixed, I'm guessing that the theme uses the patched version of that plugin, but it's something to look into. - COMPLICATED MR. NOODLE
2) I am always wary of any theme that comes pre-packaged with plugins. Doing so short-circuits the process of keeping those plugins up-to-date. Instead of simply being able to update the plugins yourself, you're now at the mercy of the theme developer, waiting on them to update the plugins. It also seems that the theme is actually dependent on certain plugins, meaning that it will actually break or stop working if something goes wrong with one of those plugins. - COMPLICATED MR. NOODLE
I'm definitely not saying that you shouldn't go for it; it's tough to find a theme & set of features that's more closely matched to what you're trying to do. I just want to warn you of the possible issues you might run into in the future. As an aside, ThemeForest/Envato is basically a marketplace like Etsy, etc. The people selling their themes on ThemeForest could be anyone; they might... more... - COMPLICATED MR. NOODLE
Thank you! This is just the kind of info I was looking for. I wondered about the pre-packaged themes. Good things to think about. THANK YOU! - holly #ravingfangirl from iPhone

gamers! Which would be better for complete tabletop newbies? Pandemic, Ticket to Ride, Catan or 7 Wonders?
I'd say Ticket to Ride. It's quick to set up, relatively easy to follow, and scoring isn't too complex. - Pete's Got To Go
I'd have to agree with Pete. Ticket to Ride is what I bust out when I'm bringing someone into tabletop gaming for the first time. (well, either that or Munchkin, but that wasn't one of your options :) - Hookuh Tinypants
I third Pete and Hookuh, but Pandemic would also be good if the players enjoy working together. - Stephen Mack from iPhone
my vote is for Ticket to Ride. absolutely not Pandemic (but that's just me) - holly #ravingfangirl
You don't like Pandemic, Holly? Interesting! Of the four, my personal preference is Catan > 7 Wonders > Pandemic > Ticket To Ride (but I do enjoy all four). - Stephen Mack
I started with Pandemic, but we nerfed it a bit for the first couple of games (my friends just picked everyone's roles, and we drew fewer cards) until everyone could get used to how the rules worked. - Jennifer Dittrich
it's not that I don't like it, but we are a fairly experienced gaming group and it took us a while to get the hang of it and actually win a game. it's a frustrating game, to me, but I don't dislike it. :) - holly #ravingfangirl

"Last weekend, I decided to make a pot of soup before we braved the crazy. You start by softening your carrots, celery and onions in a big pot with mustard powder and cayenne for a little kick. Then, stir in a few spoonfuls of flour to thicken your soup, and add chicken stock, Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce. This soup does not lack in flavor. Let it simmer for 15 minutes, and then pour in a bottle of pale lager. I grabbed a bottle of Sam Adams Oktoberfest, because that’s what we had in the fridge, but you could go with Yuengling, Miller High Life, PBR – just be sure to use something you like, because you WILL be tasting it. Once the soup has simmered for another five minutes, you purée all or some of it, stir in the Cheddar and gruyere until it melts, and gild the lily with a swirl of half-and-half. The first bite is always a surprise, because you’d expect a soup with so much cheese to be sort of mellow, but this isn’t. The beer adds a nice edge that cuts through the richness,... more... - John (bird whisperer) from Bookmarklet

"The following recipe takes advantage of zucchini’s aforementioned neutral flavor, plus its soft texture, to create nicely dense, dark-chocolate bread. Semisweet chips create soft little pools of fudge that complement the bread’s nicely moist texture very well, thank you. Are you ready to back off dissing your zukes, and put them to tasty use? I have no idea what Dutch cocoa is. Or all-purpose flour. To Google I go! - Melly
See, it's healthy... it's got vegetables! ;-) - John (bird whisperer)
Dutch cocoa is cocoa that doesn't have extra sugar. All-purpose flour is regular white flour (not whole-grain, not bread flour, etc.). - John (bird whisperer)
I'm guessing it is plain flour since you have to add baking soda & powder. Which means I should be able to use self-raising flour instead? - Melly
The generic cocoa powder I have on my baking shelf says "pure cocoa powder" in the ingredients, that's it. So I'm guessing that means no extra sugar. - Melly
Dutch processed cocoa should have a neutral Ph (it has been processed with an alkaline to take away some of the acidity.) It makes a difference depending on the leavening you're using (baking powder vs. baking soda.) Most baking cocoa you'd find at the store is dutch processed, at least it is here. Both natural, and Dutch processed, should have no sugar. - Jennifer Dittrich
I just put zucchini on the shopping list for next week. - Melly
