"Haha.. yeah you did comment on the HandiSleeve post, I think. That's how I found you :) I love your blog.. I'll definitely be visiting regularly!"

Metric is my favorite band. Their latest album, Fantasies, is just amazing. I highly recommend it :)

I hear about them a lot on here, I finally decided I needed to check them out. I likey. They didn't hit me the way Beirut did -- Still, that makes two good music discoveries directly from friendfeed. I'm sure there have been more, but those stand out.

I love Fantasies! I fell majorly in love with them a few months ago. Now I'm back to "i can listen to other music" mode lol.

"this unusual desk calendar draws its inspiration from Post- it notes, but radically reinvents the format to make a usable desk calendar that will look at home on any designer or printers desk. It fulfils both function and beauty with laser cut day-to-view pages in an amazing array of colours, Including the 3 new additions to the Sirio Color range Pietra, Foglia and Vino. Designed by Studio 8 and printed by Team Impression the calendar makes a practical yet design-led desk object. Printed onto the Fedrigoni SIRIO Color range of uncoated coloured papers and boards the swatch provides a snapshot view of the Sirio portfolio including its 3 new colour additions. Sirio Color is one of the most comprehensive ranges of coloured, embossed and textured paper and boards in the market today with over 180 differing colour, weight and textured options."

"While it doesn’t literally bend space and time, this 3 dimensional spherical clock by Darien Lee is definitely an upgrade to the 2 dimensional flat clock elevating it to be both modern and smart. To add more to this whole idea of space and time being bent, the elegant hour, minute and second hands conform to the sphere, creating the illusion that they were being bent by the ball itself. The clocks come in four flavours - kiwi green, tangelo orange, bubblegum pink and baby blue. With those colours, it will surely brighten up any space be it your living room or your office. As for size, the sphere is only 4″ in diameter - about the size of a grapefruit hanging off your wall."

"The Japanese retail brand MUJI and LEGO teamed up to develop a set of 4 different boxes. Inside those boxes you’ll find the classic LEGO bricks but also a few sheets of paper. No big deal. But when you also have the right punch hole tool, you can combine both to create something new."

I hope the quality has improved on this. I bought one for my dad 2 years ago, and I never got it to work properly. I'm no Wifi expert, but I'm not a luddite, either. Each time I would go back to fiddle with it to try to get it to work, all I could think of was, "If *I* can't figure it out, imagine the head-scratching the average joe would have with this. Completely *NOT* user-friendly." And the support and online help for it was pitiful (and some of it in Engrish).
- rowlikeagirl
Oh, that does not sound very good. Hopefully it has improved.

:( It's been 2 years, so hopefully they've gotten enough hate mail to make it better. The concept of it was great; execution, not so much. :(

"A nice and (!) eco-friendly concept by NY based designer Harc Lee. As designer describes his project by himself: “A convex logo substitutes colorfully sprayed can. Naked can help to reduce air and water pollution occurred in its coloring process. It also reduces energy and effort to separate toxic color paint from aluminum in recycling process. Huge amount of energy and paint required to manufacture colored cans will be saved. Instead of toxic paint, manufacturers process aluminum with a pressing machine that indicates brand identity on surface. ”"

This looks very useful. It's even more so these days, when many items run on low-voltage supplies, and the power blocks that supply that low voltage accept anything between 110 and 250V AC.

It does. Too bad they don't know if it's real or not. No manufacturer or supplier info are available.

"Next year the Royal Mail will launch its stamp programme with a set of ten 1st class stamps designed by Studio Dempsey that celebrate classic British album covers - including Blur's Parklife (designed by Chris Thomson / Stylorouge. Photography: Bob Thomas), and New Order's Power, Corruption and Lies (designed by Peter Saville)" "Deciding what album covers to include was no easy task. Royal Mail tell us that they began the process by trawling through various existing polls of Greatest Album Covers. They also enlisted the help of editors from various leading UK music publications along with graphic designers and design writers who were asked to list the most significant album sleeve artwork used on records by British artists. The final selection of ten sleeves (which perhaps oddly doesn't feature one of The Beatles' album covers) will appear on a set of 10 stamps that will launch on January 7, 2010 - and the stamps will be uniquely shaped, as shown in these images, to accommodate a glimpse of a vinyl disc poking out of each record sleeve."

"Waiting in public spaces could certainly be more pleasurable, thinks Teun Fleskens, and with that goal in mind he designed the CHITCHAT. A piece of seating furniture for up to seven people that literally rocks. Whoever sits on it makes the piece of furniture and those who are already sitting on it move, which almost always stimulates social interaction between them. It is both surprising and amusing, and you start chatting about it with your neighbour. Strangers work together to find the best balance. The ice is broken, the atmosphere has improved, and waiting has quickly become much less boring. The ‘rocking trees’ in the centre ensure a playful effect, especially when there are several CHITCHATS in a single space."

The anime we watch are far from the silly Powerpuff kiddie anime that people normally see as anime. Watch away directeur, I'm with you :D

Thank you, all! :) Jason, let's hope so! As I often said it in the Dango Daikazoku group, the idea here is really more important than my own django implementation of it -which actually is beautiful too! ;-)
