I still think that the scene in Friday the 13th when it's finally revealed that Jason's mother is the killer, by showing her speaking in "his voice" to herself, is one of the creepiest scenes in a horror film.

Yes! I had forgotten that. I thought it was a great nod to 'Psycho,' in a way, and was just about the only part that I found genuinely creepy.

I had that one spoiled for me by Scream, but enjoyed that movie (and the subsequent watch through of a bunch of classics) that I didn't mind too much.

pointless tidbit: the actress whose character was the sole survivor the the first "Friday The 13th" film was a student of my uncle's. he was a fencing instructor back in the 70s and early 80s until losing an eye.

We watched a really excellent spoof of paranormal activity, the last exorcism, the exorcism of emily rose, ghost hunters and cris angel last night. It was called supernatural activity. Available on Netflix. Very well done. Very funny.

I really liked following along when you were both watching a bunch of "found footage" films, so MC's comment about looking at specific genre/sub-genre would really appeal to me. (Especially in that case, since I haven't really seen many.)

I would love to do a session on "The black guy gets it first" and the evolution of that bit of horror history. I would be doing the Troma films, MC hates them. I think the term Horror film is completely subjective, it's based on what scares you, to me stalker movies are horror films as that scares the shit out of me but may be thriller to others. (I totally think Slasher flicks are horror films but again, subjective.)
