"HTC has upgraded its syncing software to version 2.0.8. New features include syncing contact pictures along with contact information, syncing handset time with PC time (& vice versa) as well as automatic syncing as soon as you plug your handset in."

Yes but users from such services as Sprint will have to wait longer for the Cell company to approve and change the new OS to fit their needs. *pout*

"Excellent news, fellow HTC Hero owners. Just yesterday there was speculation that HTC may be skipping the Android 1.6 (Donut) update and heading straight to version 2.0 (Éclair). HTC has now confirmed that they are doing exactly that."

TIP of the day: If you have both phone and google contacts on your Hero, backup before updating. Do not trust HTC Sync. My preferred way is exporting my contact list as vcard using VCard IO. And importing them into Gmail. This will automatically merge duplicates and all your contacts will be Google contacts. (i.e.: no need to backup again)
