RT v well deserved @vikkichowney: Oh wow. Hey @whatleydude... SpinVox just won Best Mobile App at the #europas!
@dschatsky The cloud needs local 1st & 3rd party apps, to sync with, eg Evernote, Tweetdeck, Outlook, Notes, iTunes, Thunderbird etc #chrome
@dschatsky Cloud without sync is useless. Delivers a part time Internet. Mobile devices must work seamlessly offline too. #chrome
Excellent - RT @pgcat Fake Steve Jobs on Google Chrome makes more sense than most news stories on it. Hilarious! http://fakesteve.blogspot.com/2009...
RT @nbradbury Note to Google: to really compete with MS, make a kick-ass cross-platform dev tool that takes the pain out of web& desktop dev
@Maxicom If course!!! A browser is necessary for Internet use, but not sufficient
@davidcard Do you mean javascript and the dom when you mean Netscape API's, then Google does not need to create as they already exist
@Gartenberg "application" in lowercase, not as in program. Remember Internet is now integrated into almost everything people do on PC's now
And "Internet" does not equal web browser, even if it is Google's Chrome
@dmavrakis Ofcom data is outdoor 3g coverage only, NOT same as real coverage or real speeds
Chrome OS reminiscent Netscape's bravado in 96/97, but while we're not yet ready for OS=browser, the Internet is now the key OS application
@ianbetteridge Newton only became long term when it failed on initial launch
@ianbetteridge Some products long term play. Profits overall critical, Chrome OS still disrupts short term. But will be harder than Android
@ianbetteridge re Google repeat product failures--Yes. But products don't have to make money to disrupt a market & change everything forever
RT @BenedictEvans: http://www.ofcom.org.uk/radioco... Ofcom's new 3G coverage maps for UK. They don't address indoor coverage, but confirm O2 is the worst
Most intriguing thing about Google Chrome OS is its support for ARM -- ie common handheld CPUs -- as well as PC-based x86
I wonder if Nokia rumours due to journalist assuming Android & not being aware of Chrome OS. Nokia's denial was limited to smartphones.
Timing is critical for product strategy. I wonder if Chrome is too late to exploit Microsoft's Vista era weakness.
Nokia Android rumours almost certainly caused because some journalist heard Linux, assumed Android, & didn't know about Maemo
Going back to being on holiday, after my brief foray into what's happening today! See you tomorrow!
@Thomas_Husson If you have a Mac you can sync iPhone bookmarks locally with Safari. On a PC, you can sync with IE.
@dmavrakis Not my experience re mobile bradband speeds - what's your source?
RT You heard it from me first! @superglaze The Digital Britain 50p phone tax won't be enough, says BT http://news.zdnet.co.uk/communi...
@chrisgreen If your phone line is good, so is Be, and it's v fast. Just don't use their DNS
BIC branded phone is sign of times. But ID requirements impact fulfillment of the marketing proposition http://www.bic-phone.fr/en/
