Ok, you don't have to really love fashion ("fashion" was taken) but here's a place to share news about all things fashion, shopping, beauty, style - anything!
So ladies, how do you feel about ankle booties? I am intrigued by them, find them cool in fashion editorials, admire stylish girls that wear them - but haven't yet plunged in and bought a pair for myself. Thoughts? - http://www.zappos.com/cole-ha...
i enjoy wearing mine a lot - think they're definitely worth trying on a pair. that said, i like the look of high oxfords better but never got around to getting some last year when they were in...

Includes tying instructions. I'm buying tons of scarves this season -- they're cheap and can liven up a plain sweater that you've had for ages.

"With the house of Lacroix filing for bankruptcy, and Yves Saint Laurent gone, some fear that haute couture is finished. But Paris’s fashion phoenix has survived world war, cultural revolution, and economic meltdown, reshaped to fit the times. Tracing its lineage—Worth, Poiret, Chanel, Dior, and onward—the author describes the current incarnation: spectacular shows accessible to millions on the Internet and a new global client base in the Middle East, India, and China." Loooong but fascinating history of haute couture (back in the early 20th century, America was the China of its day, ripping off designs from Paris designers).

Now this is funny. I spent a good chunk of my 13th year of life, making tops like this. Oh and pillows.

And while I enjoy the copy, I probably would've had even more fun with it. "Everyone will be counting their dactyls when you adjust the fashion meter with this cute little number." Or... something like that.

"$109.99 Trying to solve the mystery of how to acquire criminally cute clothing that also serves a purpose? Why, it's quite elementary! A brief investigation into functional style turns up this brown, houndstooth plaid trench from BB Dakota. Look closely, and you'll deduce that the bottom ruffle provides the perfect feminine flounciness and that the belt cinches in to provide a ladylike shape to this double-breasted, menswear-inspired coat. During a storm, you'll detect that function is hot on the trail of form when you go under cover of the rain shield at the back and right chest, and when you keep your glasses, wallet, money, and keys clean and dry in the two hip pockets. Tortoise shell buttons and shoulder epaulets will tip you off to this overcoat's defectless detail, and a sturdy cotton-blend construction and satiny, sepia lining will keep you warm as you tour the rainy streets of London tracking down the hottest hangouts. Connect all the clues, and you'll draw the conclusion that you need to add this piece of outerwear to your wardrobe!"

Meticulously stitched designs accent the beige cotton blend of this lined, three-quarter sleeve coat that will keep you warm during dewy morning demonstrations, and four visible black buttons on the placket and two hidden buttons just below the waist keep you looking securely stylish, even to the most discriminating eye. Store your bills in hidden hip pockets then tie the ascot collar around your neck, and you've got a captivating coat that will do your wardrobe justice!"

Yeah, I don't think I've even made a coat for someone that cost less than $200 and that was over 15 years ago. I'm positive that just the materials and pattern would cost me close to $90. They must be massed produced or have discounted fabrics.
