Re: Setting Up OS RAID With Windows 7 Ultimate - http://www.overclockers.com/index...
"You'll need the professional or ultimate versions of Windows 7 for mirroring. From what I'm reading, Home Premium does not support dynamic disks, thus does not support mirroring." - Matt Bidinger
Re: Out of the Loop? - http://overclockers.com/index...
"Good point, bad attention to detail on my part. My sentiment still stands in regards to most power users and overclockers. I have a hard time thinking there are many people in these groups who would find 4GB limiting. Even those with more than 4GB, I'd expect they'd welcomely admit they find its overkill a majority of the time." - Matt Bidinger
Re: Out of the Loop? - http://overclockers.com/index...
"I would disagree with bumping ram up to 6GB for most users, and even most overclockers. The only justification I can see for that is because RAM is so cheap right now, but still there are more crucial places you can put your money that you want to invest in computer parts... I'd personally stick it away in an SSD fund. On linux, I'm running an XP virtual machine over 75% of the time I'm running this T400 with 2GB, and I never run low on RAM. Most users wouldn't be running a virtual machine. I don't know what most users could be doing on a desktop machine to require more than 4GB. Seems it could only be a wise choice in very edge cases for users with very demanding, non-average application requirements." - Matt Bidinger

"Mike, thank you for bringing this article to our attention. Overclockers.com went thru a migration from a static site to a Joomla powered site, and some articles didn't migrate fully. Since you mentioned this article, I went ahead and fixed the article so the rest of the information your looking for is now included." - Matt Bidinger
Re: Using Your Old Socket 775 Mounting Hardware On Your Brand New P55 Setup - http://www.overclockers.com/index...
"sno.lcn from the forum wrote this article, he is listed very clearly as the author. I gave the final say that the article was ready to be published. There are no pictures of "the modded heat sink" because the heatsink wasn't modified in any way - only the mounting hardware was custom done to make the heatsink work on a platform it wasn't designed for. There are 4 pictures of this custom mounting hardware which sno.lcn designed himself. Also, you refer to a link to the original article that is locked - there is no link to any locked thread. There is a link to sno.lcn's forum user profile, where you can contact him if you'd like to. The forums require you to sign up, as forums always do. As for your other comments, this is a community site - if you want to improve things or contribute, contact me at spamisyummy@gmail.com and you can get involved. You can also clarify your feedback at that address and it will be taken under better consideration. Otherwise, your just griping idly and I..." - Matt Bidinger

"Thanks for posting your comment. When overclockers.com moved off the old grey site, they migrated all material into the current Joomla site using an automated process. That process worked great, tho not %100. Since you brought this to our attention, I went in and fixed it manually - you should see the whole content now." - Matt Bidinger

"I'd also add PDFCreator. It's open source, free, and allows PDF creation from any application by printing to a special "PDF Creator" print queue which prompts you for where to save the file. The created PDF's are standards compliant and completely inter-operable with Adobe's products." - Matt Bidinger

"The added resistance in the length of tubing and extra exchanger would be non-trivial, so your pump would need to be up to the task. You'd want to observe results and gauge which performs better to determine if its worth it." - Matt Bidinger

Re: X1800XT Cooling Mod - http://oc1.overclockers.com/index...
"If your doing this, just keep in mind to support it properly - the card and the socket aren't made to have a giant cooler hanging off. The stress on the PCB and socket could lead to problems down the road - I've seen people on the forums address this by also doing mods to support the card better." - Matt Bidinger

"There's more great stuff in the pipeline from Dolk, so you've got more to look forward to. If you'd like to write anything similar, or contribute to the frontage in any way, contact me through the forums." - Matt Bidinger
"Contact me thru the forums via private message. A bi-weekly or monthly commitment is good... a regular, consistent schedule that you can stick to still contributes. You don't need to know HTML, we are on Joomla currently and it has a WYSIWYG editor (plain text essentially). Wordpress will be different when we switch over to that (month or 2, hopefully), but also won't require HTML knowledge. Additionally, most submissions come in currently thru .DOC or .ODT format - we'll work with what you can provide." - Matt Bidinger
